Rocky Mountain High runner wins national title
Rocky Mountain High senior Michael Slagowski won the boys 800 meters Sunday at the New Balance Nationals Indoor track and field meet at The Armory.
Slagowski, who has signed with Penn State, crossed the finish line in 1 minute, 50.29 seconds.
He is the reigning 5A state champion in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200.
Timberline’s Garrett Calhoun finished ninth (1:53.93) in the same race.
In the girls 1-mile run, Lake Hazel Middle School eighth-grader Lexy Halladay was 10th in 4:48.43.
