4A All-Idaho softball team: Coaches pick the top talent across the state

IDAHO 4A SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Lauren Colson
Cole Valley Christian, jr., SS/P
She put together a season for the ages, leading all classifications in batting average (.725), hits (74), home runs (25), RBIs (76) and runs scored (85) while falling 11 points shy of the slugging percentage crown (1.784). She was also 7-3 with a 4.29 ERA in the circle.

Ryan Crosby
Cole Valley Christian
He led the Chargers (25-5) to their third straight state title in dominant fashion, outsourcing opponents 15.3 to 5 on average.

Addie Herrera
Cole Valley Christian, so., P/3B
The right-hander stood as the state champs’ ace, going 15-2 with a 4.28 ERA. At the plate she hit .575 with 10 home runs and 56 RBIs.
Abbie English
Cole Valley Christian, sr., 2B/3B
Her third all-state selection follows another potent season where the four-year starter hit .656 with 57 RBIs and 43 stolen bases.
Addison Cann
Kimberly, jr., 1B/DH
A repeat first-team pick, she provided the punch in the middle of the Bulldogs’ lineup, hitting .579 with seven homers and 58 RBIs.
Brooklyn VerWey
Kimberly, so., CF/SS
The conference player of the year was a force in the field and at the plate, striking out just three times to hit .569 with 40 RBIs.
Brielle Biggs
Preston, jr., CF/UTIL
The all-class leader in stolen bases (58) was caught just once all season, and scored 46 runs, drove in 33 more and hit .560.
Kambry Bartholick
Sugar-Salem, sr., 3B/P
She played every position in the infield, carrying the Diggers to state as their “glue” while hitting. 580 with seven home runs and 32 RBIs.
Ellie Keller
Preston, so., P/3B
The two-way threat led Preston to its first state trophy in 23 years, going 17-2 with a 3.99 ERA while hitting .480 with 40 RBIs and 28 stolen bases.
Brinkley Lauderdale
Cole Valley Christian, so., C
The backstop discouraged teams from testing her arm while hitting .567 with six home runs and 51 RBIs as a cleanup hitter.
Averie Madsen
Preston, jr., SS/UTIL
Her confidence inspired at shortstop, and her speed made her a headache as she hit .518 with 45 stolen bags and 57 runs scored.
Madi Janicek
Weiser, sr., P
The Eastern Oregon commit carried her team to state as a crafty veteran, finishing 20-6 with a 4.08 ERA while hitting .349.
Gianna Maniaci
Cole Valley Christian, fr., CF
The freshman made an immediate impact, earning the No. 2 slot in the state champs’ lineup and hitting .506 with 40 stolen bases.
