3A All-Idaho baseball team: See which players took home all-state honors

IDAHO 3A BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Cooper Brooks
Melba, jr., P/3B
The one-man wrecking crew carried the Mustangs to state. He went 7-1 with a 0.98 ERA and 93 strikeouts in 49 ⅔ innings, holding batters to a 3A-low .139 average. He also hit .500 with 38 RBIs and 3A’s highest on-base (.653) and slugging (.953) percentages.

Scott Tondevold
Orofino
He built an offensive juggernaut (13 runs per game) to carry the Maniacs to a 24-3 record and their second title in three years.

Cody Cox
Salmon, sr., P/SS
He led Salmon to its first trip to state as a five-tool force, going 8-2 with a 2.45 ERA while hitting .494 with 40 RBIs and 34 stolen bases.
Nicholas Bonner
Orofino, sr., CF
His speed in the outfield robbed extra-base hits. He also had great ability to get on base (.628), and he scored 47 runs while stealing 33 bases.
Jaeger Tondevold
Orofino, sr., SS
He missed six games with a hamstring injury and still led 3A with 42 stolen bases in 43 attempts while hitting .450 and scoring 43 runs.
Pete Dice
Nampa Christian, sr., C/P
The sure-handed backstop swung a big stick too, ranking second in 3A batting average (.500) while driving in 35 runs and stealing 24 bases.
Clayton Allen
Salmon, sr., 2B/CF
The leading hitter in 3A (.529) added four home runs, 30 RBIs and 28 stolen bases to his stat line while committing just one error all season.
Carter Carey
Malad, sr., C
His smooth hands turned balls into strikes, and his arm shut down running games. The St. Cloud CC commit hit .439 with 35 RBIs.
Kurt Ward
Malad, sr., P/DH
His leadership and arm led Malad to a second-place trophy at state. He finished 4-1 with a 2.07 ERA while hitting .365 with 26 RBIs.
Quinton Naranjo
Orofino, sr., 3B/P
The right-hander posted 3A’s best ERA (0.78), finishing 6-1 with a .162 batting average against. He hit .337 with 34 RBIs and 23 stolen bases.
Easton Green
Malad, jr., LF/P
His arm made him a closer and stopped runners from taking extra bases. His speed allowed him to hit .409 with 40 stolen bases in 42 tries.
Colter Bodily
Melba, sr., P/2B
The state golf champ and four-year starter left his mark in Melba, going 7-0 with a 2.52 ERA while hitting .397 with 27 RBIs.
Grant Vasquez
Firth, jr., CF
He topped all divisions in runs (53), led 3A in hits (48), and struck out just twice in 125 chances while hitting .426 with 37 stolen bases.
