Nominations are submitted by area coaches or taken from stats reported to the Idaho Statesman.
SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hailey Brennan, Owyhee: Went 3-0 with a 0.95 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 22 innings to lead the Storm to back-to-back 6A state titles. She also finished 9-for-20 at the plate with three doubles, a home run and six RBIs.
Alyssa Orchard, Eagle: Led the Mustangs to a second-place trophy at the 6A state tournament by going 5-for-12 with a double, an inside-the-park home run and 10 RBIs in five games.
Brooke Austin, Mountain View: Went 7-for-13 with two doubles, two home runs and five RBIs to lead the Mavericks to a fourth-place trophy at the 6A state tournament.
Adelyn McPherson, Middleton: Went 6-for-12 with two doubles, three home runs and six RBIs in four games to lead the Vikings to the 5A state title.
Sophia Kassotis, Vallivue: Went 6-for-10 with four doubles, a home run and five RBIs to lead the Falcons to a second-place trophy at the 5A state tournament.
Lauren Colson, Cole Valley Christian: Went 11-for-13 with three doubles, a triple, a home run, eight RBIs and 11 stolen bases in four games to lead the Chargers to a third straight state championship.
Quenna Hartley, Nampa Christian: Led the Trojans to a perfect season and the 3A state tournament title by going 10-for-12 with a double, two home runs and 10 RBIs in four games. She also threw eight shutout innings, allowing four hits while striking out 13.
Kinlea Cole, Parma: Went 14-for-17 with two doubles, a triple, two RBIs and six stolen bases to lead the Panthers to a second-place trophy at the 3A state tournament — the program’s best finish since 2004.
