SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hailey Bock, Owyhee: Struck out 15 during a seven-inning no-hitter in a 5-0 win over Mountain View. She also went 3-for-10 with three home runs and four RBIs, including a go-ahead, two-run home run in the eighth inning of the 6A District Three tournament championship game.
Makenzie Owens, Eagle: Finished the week 4-for-9 with a double, three home runs and six RBIs to lead the Mustangs to a state tournament berth and a runner-up finish at the 6A District Three Tournament.
McKenna Chavez, Capital: Went 6-for-7 with four home runs and seven RBIs in three games to send the Eagles to state, including a three-run, walk-off home run in a 14-11 win over Centennial.
Brooke Austin, Mountain View: Hit a pair of grand slams to put the Mavericks on the road to a state tournament berth in a 15-12 win over Boise to start the 6A District Three Tournament.
Aubrey Sorensen, Rocky Mountain: Went 4-for-9 with two doubles, a home run and two RBIs in three games to lead the Grizzlies to a 6A state tournament berth.
Sammy Miller, Middleton: Homered twice and drove in three runs while finishing 4-for-4 during an 11-4 win over Vallivue in the 5A District Three championship game.
Sophia Kassotis, Vallivue: Led the Falcons to the state tournament and a second-place finish at the 5A District Three Tournament by going 8-for-11 with a double, three home runs and eight RBIs in three games.
Brinkley Lauderdale, Cole Valley Christian: Went 5-for-5 with two doubles, two home runs and eight RBIs in two games to lead the Chargers to back-to-back 4A District Three Tournament championships.
Addison Gray, Nampa Christian: Finished the week 9-for-11 with a double, four triples, a home run and eight RBIs to lead the Trojans to the 3A District Three Tournament title.
Kinlea Cole, Parma: Went 9-for-12 with three doubles, a triple and five RBIs in three games to lead the Panthers to a second-place finish at the 3A District Three Tournament and a state tournament berth.
