BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nathan Keith, Owyhee: Threw 3 ⅓ scoreless innings of relief for the win in the Storm’s 4-2 victory over Eagle in the 6A District Three title game. He also went 7-for-9 with two doubles and four RBIs in three games.
Stephen Egan, Eagle: Gave up a single unearned run on four hits while striking out three for a complete-game victory in a 5-1 win over Mountain View that clinched the Mustangs a regional berth and home-field advantage.
Daniel Morrison, Centennial: Went 3-for-10 with a triple, a home run and eight RBIs in three games to clinch the Patriots a regional berth.
JoJo Bitonti, Ridgevue: Broke a scoreless tie with a walk-off single in the eighth inning of a 1-0 win over Boise. He finished the week 4-for-7 with two doubles and seven RBIs to lead the Warhawks to a regional berth.
Aaron Vavold, Skyview: Went 3-for-6 with a double, a triple and four RBIs to lead the Hawks to a third straight 5A District Three tournament title.
Jaxson Brady, Bishop Kelly: Threw a pair of complete-game shutouts to clinch the Knights a regional berth. He finished the week allowing five hits in 12 innings while striking out 16.
Titus Vidlak, Fruitland: Went 4-for-8 with a double, a triple and two RBIs to lead the Grizzlies to the 4A District Three tournament championship. He also pitched three innings of scoreless relief for the win in a 4-3 victory over Homedale in the title game.
Jack Emery, Melba: Belted a walk-off grand slam to trigger the mercy rule in a 12-2 win over New Plymouth in the 3A District Three tournament title game.
Blayk Cockerum, New Plymouth: Hit three home runs and drove in nine runs while going 4-for-12 over five games to lead the Pilgrims to a second-place finish at district and a regional berth.
Teague Fox, North Star Charter: Went 6-for-6 with a double and eight RBIs to lead the Huskies to back-to-back 2A District Three titles. He also threw three scoreless innings and struck out eight.
