Help us choose the best of the best in the latest Idaho Statesman softball player of the week contest.

Polls close at noon Wednesday. Read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.

You can vote multiple times. This is meant to be a fun way to show support for athletes. This is not meant to be scientific.

Nominations are submitted by area coaches or taken from stats reported to the Idaho Statesman.

SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Hailey Brennan, Owyhee: Threw a perfect game, a no-hit shutout and a one-hitter to finish the week surrendering one run on one hit with 49 strikeouts in 19 innings. She also went 8-for-11 with two doubles, a home run and eight RBIs.

Kamryn Newbery, Boise: Went 8-for-11 with two doubles, five home runs and 11 RBIs in four games.

Charlize Veldhouse, Centennial: Went 7-for-10 with four doubles, a home run and 11 RBIs to lead the Patriots to a 4-0 week.

Genevieve Rainville, Borah: Went 6-for-14 with two doubles and six RBIs in four games behind the plate to lead the Lions to a 4-0 record.

McKenna Chavez, Capital: Went 9-for-11 with three doubles, two triples, three home runs, eight RBIs and five stolen bases in five games.

Grace Chambers, Skyview: Went 9-for-13 with two doubles, a triple, two home runs and 13 RBIs as the Hawks went 4-0 last week.

Evonny Gonzales, Vallivue: Finished the week 8-for-14 with four doubles and six RBIs, including a walk-off sacrifice fly in a 6-5 win over Gooding.

Lauren Colson, Cole Valley Christian: Went 9-for-14 with four home runs and eight RBIs in four games.

Mackenzie Pedrow, McCall-Donnelly: Went 8-for-11 with three doubles, three home runs and 11 RBIs in four games.

Peyton Shook, Nampa Christian: Threw eight scoreless innings, holding opponents to six hits while striking out 16.
