BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Heath Sasser-Gunson, Owyhee: Thew a seven-inning, one-hit shutout and struck out 11 in a 2-0 win over Eagle. He also threw three no-hit innings and struck out five to pick up the win against Capital.

Lincoln Mathis, Rocky Mountain: Pitched a six-inning, one-hit shutout and struck out 13 in a 10-0 win vs. Borah. He also went 4-for-9 with two doubles in three games.

Tate Kubena, Borah: Threw a seven-inning, two-hit shutout and struck out five in a 3-0 win at Timberline.

Tate Keddington, Centennial: Pitched five scoreless innings and struck out nine in an 11-0 win over Ridgevue, and went 3-for-7 with a double, a home run and two RBIs in three games.

Elliot Jamison, Ridgevue: Went 3-for-6 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored. He also drew five walks to reach base eight times in 12 plate appearances.

Jake Penfold, Payette: Threw a five-inning, two-hit shutout and struck out three in a 23-0 win over McCall-Donnelly. He also went 6-for-9 with two doubles, a home run and six RBIs in three games.

Owen Baker, Fruitland: Pitched a seven-inning, two-hit shutout and struck out four in a 1-0 win at Homedale.

Luke Steinmeyer, Marsing: Hit a walk-off single in a 5-4 win over Marsing, finishing the week 10-for-12 with three doubles, a home run and seven RBIs.

Mike Lester, Melba: Threw a six-inning, two-hit shutout and struck out seven in a 10-0 win over Parma. He also homered and drove in three runs in the game.

Cole Young, North Star Charter: Belted two home runs in a 16-2 win over Gem State. He went 4-for-5 with a double and seven RBIs in two wins last week.
