BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cooper Schneidt, Mountain View: Hit a two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to power the Mavericks to an 8-6 win over Capital. He finished the week 5-for-12 with three RBIs and three stolen bases.
Kaleb Doty, Owyhee: Pitched a five-inning, two-hit shutout and struck out six in an 11-0 win vs. Borah.
Stryker Eldred, Centennial: Hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth in a 3-2 win over Kuna, then threw five scoreless innings and gave up just two hits in a 7-2 win vs. Meridian.
Kellen Viehweg, Middleton: Tossed a complete-game shutout and struck out 11 in a 1-0 victory over Borah. He also went 5-for-9 with two doubles and five RBIs in three games.
Ledger Downs, Skyview: Threw a seven-inning, two-hit shutout and struck out eight in a 1-0 win vs. Emmett. He also went 3-for-13 with a double and eight RBIs in four games.
Eli Daniel, Vallivue: Pitched six shutout innings and struck out nine in an 11-1 win vs. Caldwell. He also went 5-for-9 with two doubles and six RBIs in three wins.
Eli Hamby, Cole Valley Christian: Went 10-for-16 with two doubles, a triple, two home runs and 12 RBIs in four victories.
Lukas Hall, Homedale: Went 9-for-18 with three doubles, a triple, a home run and 11 RBIs in four games. His two-run home run in the top of the eighth powered the Trojans to a 9-7 win over Weiser.
Quinn Hood, Fruitland: Went 5-for-9 with two doubles, a home run and seven RBIs in three games.
Kaden Mullins, Nampa Christian: Threw a complete-game, four-hit shutout and struck out nine in an 8-0 win at Melba.
Trey Martiny, Idaho City: Went 5-for-8 with three doubles, five RBIs and six stolen bases in three games.
Cole Young, North Star Charter: Threw a five-inning, no-hit shutout and struck out 11 vs. Lighthouse Christian. He didn’t give up an earned run and struck out 27 in 11 innings, and went 8-for-14 with two doubles, a triple, a home run and 12 RBIs in four games.
