GIRLS TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Faith Johnson, Owyhee: Won the 800 (2:23.41) and anchored the Storm’s winning 4x400 relay (4:21.64) to victory at a Nampa quad meet. She then won the 3,200 (11:16.58) and placed third in the 1,600 (5:10.94) at the Patriot Invite. Her 1,600 and 3,200 times were both season bests.

Emilee Suarez, Caldwell: Recorded personal-best marks in the shot put and discus at a quad meet at Nampa High School. Suarez won the shot put with a throw of 35-8 and placed second in the discus (105-8).

Lily Sullivan, Capital: Set a school record with her time of 10:45.24 in the 3,200 at the Arcadia Invitational. Her time was a personal best and No. 2 in the state this season.

Quincy Keller, Mountain View: Broke the 12-second mark in the 100, running a season-best time of 11.92 to win the event at a home quad meet. Her time is No. 2 in the state.

Emme Hamm, Rocky Mountain: Ran a personal-best 2:13.58 to finish second in the 800 at the Pasco Invite. She also ran a leg on the Grizzlies’ winning distance medley relay (12:30.59). Her 800 time ranks No. 2 in the state.

Makenzie Baisch, Eagle: Clocked a personal-best 44.91 in the 300 hurdles at the Arcadia Invitational. It was the No. 1 time in the state this season.

Nadja Burkholder, Timberline: Soared 37-11 in the triple jump to place second at the Pasco Invite. It was the No. 1 mark in the state this season.

Claire Matthews, Weiser: Won the 1,600 in a season-best 5:30.77 and the 3,200 in a personal-best 11:55.80 and also placed second in the 800 (2:27.05) at the 17-team Dave Mangum Invite at Melba.

Olyvia Denison, Payette: Swept the long jump (16-7) and triple jump (35-7.5), and placed third in the high jump (5-0) at the 17-team Dave Mangum Invite at Melba.

Avery Reece, Nampa Christian: Placed first in the 100 (12.57), 200 (25.73), 100 hurdles (15.84) and long jump (16-8) at the Nampa City Championships.

BOYS TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Collin Wimer, Columbia: Earned four first-place finishes at the Nampa City Championships, setting personal bests in each event. Wimer won the 100 (11.06), triple jump (41-8.5), medley relay (3:52.48) and 4x100 relay (44.32).

Jacob Thomas, Rocky Mountain: Won the 3,200 at the Pasco Invite in a personal-best 9:24.87. The time ranks No. 8 in the state this season.

Nate Stadtlander, Meridian: Recorded the fastest 800 time in the state this season, winning a home quad meet in 1:53.91.

Chase Lawyer, Boise: Set personal bests in both the 110 hurdles (14.02) and 300 hurdles (36.98) at the Arcadia Invitational. Both times are No. 2 in the state this season.

Joseph Miraya, Mountain View: Posted a personal best with his throw of 61-11.5, which is No. 1 in the state, to win the shot put at the Patriot Invite. He also won the discus (164-6).

Ezekiel Van Hofwegen, Fruitland: Won the long jump in the rising stars category at the Arcadia Invitational with a personal-best leap of 22-11.5. It is the No. 2 mark in the state this season.

Carsten Volkers, Melba: Placed first in the 110 hurdles (15.80), 300 hurdles (41.23) and 4x200 relay (1:33.97) at the 17-team Dave Mangum Invite at Melba.

Tobin Knudson, Centennial: Cleared 6-6 to win the high jump at the 23-team Patriot Invite. The height was a personal best and ranks No. 3 in the state.

Tegon Lords, Nampa: Clocked a personal-best 14.05 to win the 110 hurdles at the Nampa City Championships and also won the 300 hurdles in 37.43.

Kruger Sipe, Cole Valley Christian: Won the 200 in a personal-best 22.54 and ran a leg on the Chargers’ winning 4x100 relay (44.80) while also placing second in the 100 (11.28) and third in the 4x200 (1:36.12).
