SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Hailey Brennan, Owyhee: The Storm opened the season 2-0 as their sophomore pitcher played in both games, totaling 8.1 innings, 17 strikeouts, one walk and a 0.00 ERA while hitting one home run with two RBIs.

Addison Gray, Nampa Christian: After missing last season with a knee injury, Gray was a perfect 8-for-8 in two games, racking up seven runs, four RBIs, two doubles and one home run with a slugging percentage of 1.625.

Maddie Clark, Meridian: In three games and 10 plate appearances for the Warriors, Clark compiled a .714 batting average and .800 on-base percentage with eight RBIs, seven runs and five home runs. She fielded five balls with three putouts and a 1.000 fielding percentage.

Delaney Wright, Timberline: Opened the season 3-0 in the circle with 38 strikeouts and a 1.50 ERA while also hitting .600 with six RBIs and four doubles.

Kiya Caltabiano, Capital: The Eagles started the season 4-0 as Caltabiano hit .588 at the plate with 10 hits, seven RBIs, five runs scored, three home runs, two doubles and two stolen bases. She also pitched 15 innings, earning three wins while allowing just five earned runs with 13 strikeouts and a 2.30 ERA.

Kayla Campbell, Borah: Started the season batting .636 with seven hits, six RBIs, six runs scored, four home runs, three walks and zero strikeouts.

Madi Janicek, Weiser: Helped the Wolverines go 2-1, batting .636. She pitched 19 innings and threw 330 total pitches with 29 strikeouts, one walk and a 2.72 ERA.

Kenadi Whitlow, Middleton: The Vikings started the season 3-0 as Whitlow hit .636 with 11 RBIs and four home runs.

Rylee Mangum, Kuna: In four games, Mangum batted .467 while racking up 17 RBIs and five home runs.

Lauren Fettic, Bishop Kelly: The Knights improved to 6-0 as Fettic threw 16-plus innings, earning four wins while facing 63 batters with just three hits and zero earned runs. She struck out 33 and posted a 0.00 ERA. At the plate, she hit .500 with six doubles, one triple and one home run.

Kinlea Cole, Parma: The Panthers beat Payette and swept McCall-Donnelly as Cole went 6-for-9 at the plate with a .750 on-base percentage with four RBIs and three triples. She also pitched one inning in relief with two strikeouts.

Kamryn Newbery, Boise: The Brave went 2-1 to open the season as Newbery batted .500 in 10 at-bats, including 12 runs scored, eight RBIs and one home run.
