4A All-Idaho boys soccer team: The state’s top players from its deepest division

PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Cesar Muralles

The 5-4 ‘”firecracker” didn’t impress many stepping off the bus. His play was another story. Muralles racked up 25 goals and 24 assists in 23 games. He then strapped the champs on his back at state, factoring into all seven Wendell goals, with five himself and two helpers.

He led a junior-heavy squad to a 20-1-2 record and the third state championship in program history.
FIRST TEAM
Nikita Rawson

The team leader only needed 16 games to top all classifications with 37 goals while adding 12 assists.
Eli Blackmore
Bonners Ferry, sr., F
The versatile weapon paired with Rawson to form a one-two punch, finishing with 30 goals and 19 assists.
Gordon Petterson
Sugar-Salem, sr., F
The two-time, first-team pick tallied 32 goals and 15 assists, setting a program record for career assists (51).
Cesar Camargo
Wendell, jr., M
The winger produced plenty of stats (23 goals, 15 assists) but also had a knack coming up in the clutch.
Declan White
Sun Valley Community, sr., M
Described as a “destroyer,” he owned the middle of the pitch, breaking up attacks and starting the counter.
Alan Cisneros
Payette, sr., M
The heart and soul of the Pirates worked on his finishing skills to post 20 goals and 20 assists.
Liam Hughes
Coeur d’Alene Charter, jr., D
The Panthers only gave up six goals in 20 games. The 6-foot center back was the chief reason why.

The two-way center back wiped out attacks and finished his own with 11 goals and 13 assists.

His speed and vision made him a rock-solid option at center back, cleaning up and clearing any chances.

The sweeper served as the emotional and inspirational leader for the state consolation champs.

The 6-2 keeper posted 15 shutouts in 18 games, serving as the state runner-up’s leader from the back.
