VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lacey Dougherty, Columbia: In two games at the 5A state tournament, the senior outside hitter totaled 28 kills, nine digs and four blocks.
Lucy Hickey, Weiser: The senior outside hitter led the Wolverines in kills at the 4A state tournament, averaging 2.7 kills per set with 27 kills, 15 digs and three blocks.
Shaynee McWilliams, Owyhee: The Storm finished third at the 6A state tournament, as their senior setter racked up 170 assists, 66 digs, 18 blocks, seven aces and six kills, setting Owyhee records for assists and digs in a match.
Bellamie Beus, Skyview: The junior outside hitter led the Hawks to a runner-up finish at the 6A state tournament with 102 kills, 12 blocks and 10 service aces.
Tariah Carter, Melba: The senior outside hitter helped the Mustangs win their third straight 3A state tournament championship, totaling 58 kills and 43 digs in the semifinals and championship.
Brooke Hardy, Fruitland: The Grizzlies placed second at the 4A state tournament behind Hardy’s 35 kills, 17 digs, seven blocks and two aces in the title match.
Aubree Zimmer, Horseshoe Bend: The Mustangs took home the second-place trophy at the 1A state tournament as their senior outside hitter registered 13 kills, six digs, one block and one service ace in the championship match.
