3A All-Idaho baseball team: Top 23 players in the classification make the all-state team

3A ALL-IDAHO PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Stanton Howell
Marsh Valley, sr., P/1B
The left-hander adds another award to his mantle, repeating as the player of year after making the all-state basketball first team three times. He continued to dominate hitters, posting a 6-0 record with a 1.52 ERA. He struck out 69 and walked just 12 in 41 ⅓ innings.

The Eagles went 24-1, repeated as state champs and claimed their third title in the past four tournaments under Howell’s guidance.
FIRST TEAM
Dillon Fine
Homedale, jr., P
The two-way impact player was 6-2 with a 0.63 ERA and led 3A with 107 strikeouts. He also hit .500 with four home runs and 33 RBIs.
Jason Jones
Marsh Valley, sr., P
The right-hander led 3A in win-loss record (9-0), ERA (0.55) and complete games (nine). He’ll pitch for Dawson CC in Montana next year.
Zane Bidwell
Fruitland, sr., P
A first-team catcher last year, he’s still one of the state’s top backstops. But he also was 5-2 with a 0.98 ERA and 80 strikeouts in 45 ⅔ innings.
Tommy Woodcock
Sugar-Salem, jr., C
His big arm and sure hands gave pitchers the confidence to throw any pitch in any count. He also hit .406 and drove in 31 runs.
Alex Vaughan
Marsh Valley, sr., INF
The Eagles’ second baseman and leadoff hitter led 3A in batting average (.543), on-base percentage (.683) and stolen bases (27).
River Chadwick
Kimberly, jr., INF
The shortstop led the Bulldogs to the state finals by hitting .539, driving in 25 runs, stealing 25 bases and scoring a 3A-leading 47 runs.
Remington Higley
Buhl, so., INF
The third baseman turned heads around the state, hitting .507 while leading the 3A ranks in slugging percentage (.836) and RBIs (38).
Jackson Gardner
Sugar-Salem, so., INF
The sophomore hit .397 with 28 RBIs for the season. But he stepped up when it mattered most, hitting .583 between district and state.
Lucas Clark
Marsh Valley, jr., OF
His elite speed and even better jumps made him the perfect candidate to turn extra-base hits into outs. He hit .392 and stole 10 bases.
Brock Spencer
Weiser, jr., OF
The rare combo of speed and power, Spencer put both on display all season, hitting .397 with three home runs, 18 RBIs and 23 stolen bases.
Will Chappell
Sugar-Salem, so., OF
By the end of the year, many pitched around the BYU commit. He still hit .385, slugged .679 and added three home runs and 39 runs scored.
