Winner of the Treasure Valley baseball player of the week contest (May 16 to 22)
Voting has closed in the latest Treasure Valley Athlete of the Week contests.

BASEBALL
Drayton Black, Owyhee: Threw five scoreless innings in the finals to lead Owyhee to the 5A state title. He also ripped a two-run double to lead the Storm to a 6-4 win over Lewiston in the first round.
Luke Hines, Rocky Mountain: Threw a five-hit shutout and struck out 11 to lead the Grizzlies to 7-0 win over Borah in the first round of the 5A state tournament.
Kailer Saunders, Timberline: Threw a one-hit shutout and struck out six in a 3-0 win over Borah in the first round of the 5A state tournament. The Wolves finished third at state.
Colin Dempsey, Bishop Kelly: Pitched nine scoreless innings to lead the Knights to back-to-back 4A state titles. He threw four innings of a combined no-hitter in the opening round, then threw five more in a 15-0 romp of Twin Falls in the finals.
Micah Mendiola, Middleton: Hit a walk-off single to lead the Vikings to the 4A third-place trophy with a 6-5 win over Columbia. He finished the weekend 2-for-10 with a triple and six RBIs.
Zane Bidwell, Fruitland: Led the Grizzlies to a runner-up trophy in 3A by going 4-for-7 with a home run. He reached base 10 times in 13 plate appearances.
Brett Spencer, Weiser: Went 5-for-7 with three doubles, a home run and five RBIs to lead the Wolverines to a third-place finish in 3A.
Landon Cheney, Nampa Christian: Threw a four-hit shutout and struck out 14 to lead the Trojans to an 8-0 win over Firth in the 2A state championship game.
