Winners of the Treasure Valley athlete of the week contests (March 21 to 27)

Voting has closed in the latest Treasure Valley Athletes of the Week contest.

Here are the winners. You can read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.

  • Softball: Alyssa Castiglione, Mountain View
  • Baseball: Jackson Hatch, Bishop Kelly

SOFTBALL

Samantha Hatzenbeller, Owyhee: Slugged two home runs while going 6-for-16 with eight RBIs. She also went 2-0 with a 3.20 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 15 ⅓ innings pitched.

Allie Laufenburger, Capital: Went 10-for-16 with four home runs, 11 RBIs and nine runs scored in four games. She also threw 13 innings, striking out 11 while surrendering six earned runs.

Sydney Groves, Eagle: Fell a single short of the cycle against La Grande during a blowout as part of a week that saw her go 7-for-9 with a double, a triple, two home runs and four RBIs.

Grace Diffin, Centennial: Went 4-0 in the circle, holding opponents to two runs on 10 hits while striking out 27 in 24 innings. She also went 10-for-15 with three doubles and six RBIs at the plate.

Harper Campanella, Bishop Kelly: Went 8-for-18 with three home runs and five RBIs to lead the Knights to a 3-2 record on a spring break trip to Florida.

Alyssa Castiglione, Mountain View: Hit three home runs Saturday, including a grand slam, to lead the Mavericks to wins over Lewiston and Idaho Falls. She finished the day 4-for-8 with eight RBIs.

Tobie Noyer, Weiser: Went 12-for-17 with four doubles, three triples, three home runs and 12 RBIs to lead the Wolverines to a 4-0 record last week.

Angelina Gonzalez, Vallivue: Finished four games 8-for-12 with two doubles, a triple, five RBIs and 10 runs scored.

BASEBALL

Landon Cheney, Nampa Christian: Hit .800 with a 1.300 slugging percentage and five RBIs in four games for the Trojans. He also pitched 5 ⅔ innings, holding Wood River to one earned run while striking out eight.

Logan Miller, Timberline: Went 8-for-12 with three doubles, a triple, six RBIs, five runs scored and a stolen base as the Wolves remained undefeated. He also pitched a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.

Jake Ryan, Owyhee: Went 6-for-13 with two triples, two inside-the-park home runs, six RBIs and six runs as the Storm improved to 5-3.

Bennett Butler, Boise: Finished the Buck’s Bags Classic 9-for-10 with two doubles and three RBIs. He also earned the Brave a win on the mound, holding Burley to two runs on three hits in five innings.

Owen Moss, Caldwell: The freshman recorded a complete-game victory, holding Fruitland to one run on six hits while striking out 11 in six innings.

Robert Orloski, Middleton: Struck out 13 while throwing a five-inning, one-hit shutout in a 10-0 win vs. Canyon Ridge. He also finished the week hitting .545 with two doubles, two stolen bases and four RBIs.

Jackson Hatch, Bishop Kelly: Went 4-for-7 with a triple, a home run and four RBIs to lead the Knights to a 4-0 record at the Buck’s Bags Spring Classic.
