Winners of the Treasure Valley athlete of the week contests (Jan. 31 to Feb. 6)
Voting has closed in the latest Treasure Valley Athletes of the Week contest.
Here are the winners. You can read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.
- Boys basketball: Alex Martinez, Rimrock
- Girls basketball: Paige Cofer, Eagle
- Boys wrestling: Rylee Willet, Weiser
- Girls wrestling: Liv Wieber, Eagle
BOYS BASKETBALL
Alex Martinez, Rimrock: Averaged 16.3 points, 5.3 assists and five steals to lead the Raiders to wins over Centennial Baptist, Riverstone and North Star Charter.
Benny Guevara, Notus: Sank 4-of-7 3-pointers and scored 16 points in a win over Idaho City, then hit 5-of-7 3-pointers and scored 25 points in a win vs. Wilder. He played three quarters in both games.
Nate Ojukwu, Mountain View: Averaged 15 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead the Mavericks to wins over Capital, Kuna and Timberline.
Decker Larson, Horseshoe Bend: Posted a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Mustangs to a 57-44 win over Garden Valley.
Joe Reiber, Melba: Had 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Mustangs to a 64-57 win over Ambrose and take sole possession of first place in the 2A WIC.
Jakin Calhoun, Vallivue: Posted a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds in a 45-40 win over Ridgevue.
Tyler Medaris, Middleton: Had two more double-doubles last week. He racked up 18 points, 17 rebounds and seven assists in a win over Bishop Kelly, and he had 17 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in a win vs. Columbia.
Jack Payne, Owyhee: Racked up 13 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and two blocks in a 71-44 win over Centennial.
Donovan Jones, Eagle: Tallied 18 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and four steals in a 70-60 victory at Skyview.
Dallin Criddle, Liberty Charter: Finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds in a 51-16 victory vs. Greenleaf.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Layci Andrews, Emmett: Her double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds led the Huskies to a 51-46 win over Nampa in the first round of the 4A District Three Tournament.
Avery Howell, Boise: Posted a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Meridian in the first round of the 5A District Three Tournament, then added seven points and 14 rebounds in a win over Borah in the semifinals.
Shae Olsen, Greenleaf: Racked up 30 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and four steals in a 48-28 win over Idaho City in the first round of the 1A Division I District Three Tournament.
Sophie Glancey, Timberline: Had her ninth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 46-19 win over Eagle in the 5A District Three Tournament semifinals. She also had 19 points and eight rebounds in a first-round win.
Rylie Calkins, Parma: Erupted for 30 points and drained 7-of-13 3-pointers to lead the Panthers to a 51-25 win over Weiser in the 3A District Three Tournament semifinals.
Paige Cofer, Eagle: Scored 35 points to lead the Mustangs to a 58-40 win over Owyhee in the first round of the 5A District Three Tournament.
Annie Stinar, Centennial: Poured in 24 points while making 6-of-11 3-pointers in a 57-44 win over Mountain View in the play-in round of the 5A District Three Tournament.

BOYS WRESTLING
Dedrick Navarro, Nampa: Rolled to the 106-pound title at the Weiser Invite with two pins, a tech fall and a major decision.
Hunter Bidelman, Caldwell: Won the 138-pound title at the Weiser Invite with three pins and a 14-0 major decision.
Rylee Willet, Weiser: Edged Nampa’s Payton Gunter with a 3-1 decision for the 220-pound title at the Weiser Invite.
Nico Rodriguez, Columbia: Pinned Weiser’s Jesse Lockett in 2:52 to win the heavyweight crown at the Weiser Invite, his fourth tournament title of the season.
McKoy Richardson, Melba: Pinned his way to the finals and then scored a 7-1 decision to win the 145-pound title at the Mario D’Orazio Memorial in Challis.

GIRLS WRESTLING
Liv Wieber, Eagle: The 138-pounder pinned all four opponents she faced at the Dick Fleischmann Duals in a minute or less.
Dahlia Yerby, Emmett: Pinned three straight opponents to win the 106-pound title at the Mario D’Orazio Memorial in Challis.
Gracie Castillo, Garden Valley: Won the 160-pound crown at the Mario D’Orazio Memorial in Challis.
