Winners of the Treasure Valley athlete of the week contests (Dec. 27 to Jan. 2)

Voting has closed in the latest Treasure Valley Athletes of the Week contest.

Here are the winners. You can read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.

  • Boys basketball: Landon White, Eagle
  • Girls basketball: Eliana T’ia, Centennial

BOYS BASKETBALL

Liam Campbell, Owyhee: Led all scorers at the prestigious Damien Classic in La Verne, California, with just under 27 points per game. He led the Storm to a third-place finish in the top bracket and received offers from Washington State and San Diego after the tournament.

Trevor Corn, Garden Valley: Racked up 26 points, seven rebounds and five steals in the Wolverines’ 72-44 nonconference win over Cascade at the Truckstop.com Tournament in New Plymouth.

Landon White, Eagle: Poured in 33 points and added four rebounds and two steals in the Mustangs 66-51 win vs. Coeur d’Alene.

Blake Hawthorne, Bishop Kelly: Had 21 points, eight rebounds and five blocks in the Knights’ 62-41 over Post Falls.

Max Myers, Cole Valley Christian: Scored 19 points to lead the 2A Chargers to a 62-60, overtime win over 5A Skyview.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Eliana T’ia, Centennial: Set a new program single-game record with 16 rebounds in a 49-44 win over Minico.

Sophia Glancey, Timberline: Racked up 30 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks in a 73-38 win vs. Minico. She averaged 20.3 points, 12.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks to lead the Wolves to a 2-1 record at the TimberLion Tournament.

Austyn Harris, Parma: Scored 24 points and added six rebounds in the Panthers’ 63-34 win over Nampa Christian.

Gracie Strickland, Capital: Record one double-double (11 points, 11 rebounds) in a 41-31 win over Idaho Falls, and fell one point short of another one (nine points, 12 rebounds) in a 41-25 win vs. Hillcrest.
