Winners of the Treasure Valley athlete of the week contests (Dec. 6 to 12)
Voting has closed in the latest Treasure Valley Athletes of the Week contest.
Here are the winners. You can read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.
- Girls basketball: Cassidy Fried, Middleton
- Boys basketball: Nolan Bower, Fruitland
- Boys wrestling: Zack Vian, New Plymouth
- Girls wrestling: Alexandra Garvin, Rocky Mountain
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Shae Olsen, Greenleaf: Averaged 17.8 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.8 steals to lead the Grizzlies to three wins in four games.
Deborah Tadasee, Riverstone: Led the Otters to their second win of the year (38-33 vs. Compass Charter) with 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Abby Ballhagen, North Star Charter: Racked up 11 points, 15 rebounds, four assists and three steals in a 54-27 win vs. Riverstone.
Sophia Glancey, Timberline: Recorded a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds, and added three blocks, in a 52-19 win over Centennial. She also scored 23 points in a 60-30 win vs. Meridian.
Cassidy Fried, Middleton: Scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Vikings to a key, 4A SIC win at Bishop Kelly (52-46).
Demi Thompson, Mountain View: Poured in 22 points as the Mavericks topped Meridian 47-37.
Brooklynn Dayley, Melba: Averaged 13.5 points, 6.5 assists and 7.5 steals in league wins over Nampa Christian (69-23) and New Plymouth (49-24).

BOYS BASKETBALL
Tanner Wilkerson, Emmett: Averaged 23 points and 4.5 steals as the Huskies topped Ontario (73-23) and fell to Cole Valley Christian (67-63, OT)
Cace Lewis, Payette: Racked up 21 points, eight rebounds and five blocks to lead the Pirates to a 60-58 win over Marsing.
Heyden Pinkston, Vision Charter: Hit last-second shots to force overtime and double overtime in the Golden Eagles’ 53-42 win at Gem State. He averaged 15 points, 10.5 rebounds, five steals, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks as Vision Charter went 2-0.
Nate Ojukwu, Mountain View: Led the Mavericks to wins over Capital (69-29) and Borah (59-40) while averaging 16 points, four rebounds and two steals in just 24 total minutes played.
Trayson Corn, Garden Valley: Sank seven 3-pointers to score 27 points in a 59-43 win over Grace Lutheran. He also had 22 points in a 74-22 win at Meadows Valley.
Jakin Calhoun, Vallivue: Recorded a double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Falcons to a 56-40 win at Rocky Mountain.
Nolan Bower, Fruitland: Sank a buzzer-beating field goal en route to 16 points in the Grizzlies’ 60-58 win over Baker, Oregon.
Liam Campbell, Owyhee: Racked up 27 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in the Storm’s 75-46 win at Centennial.
Cache Beus, Melba: Grabbed 21 rebounds and added eight points in the Mustangs’ 61-48 victory against Weiser.
Michael Corkish, North Star Charter: Had 14 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals in a 48-33 win vs. Idaho City.

BOYS WRESTLING
Christopher Martino, Bishop Kelly: Finished sixth at 132 pounds at the Walsh Jesuit Ironman Tournament in Ohio, one of the country’s most prestigious tournaments.
Mason Jacobsen, Rocky Mountain: Went 5-0 last week, including going 4-0 with four first-round pins to finish first at the Tim Matthews Invite in Jerome.
Jacob Blandford, Middleton: Scored two sudden-death wins to win the 145-pound division at the Calhoun Classic in Nyssa, Oregon, and improve to 12-0.
Zack Vian, New Plymouth: The sophomore won the 120-pound division at the Calhoun Classic, helping the Pilgrims win the team title.
Tyler Feeley, Payette: Knocked off a defending state champ to win the 126-pound title at the Calhoun Classic.
Seth Rushton, McCall-Donnelly: Won the 182-pound title at the Calhoun Classic with a 3-1, sudden-death win to improve to 7-0.
Miguel Perez, Caldwell: Preserved his perfect record (12-0) by pinning his way to the top of the heavyweight podium at the Calhoun Classic.

GIRLS WRESTLING
Alexandra Garvin, Rocky Mountain: Posted a 4-0 record while pinning her way to the 138-pound title at the Tough as Nails Tournament at Capital.
Liv Wieber, Eagle: Pinned her way to the 132-pound title at the Tough as Nails Tournament. No match lasted longer than 24 seconds.
Hallie Campbell, Columbia: Pinned every opponent she faced to win the 160-pound division at the Tough as Nails Tournament.
Ornella Kero, Boise: Only needed 3 minutes, 45 seconds to score three pins and win the 155-pound division at the Calhoun Classic.
Rain Cardona, Caldwell: Finished first at 190 pounds at the Calhoun Classic with a pair of pins.
Whitney Turner, Weiser: Two pins earned her the 170-pound crown at the Calhoun Classic.
Angela Carl, Payette: Pinned her way to the 120-pound title at the Calhoun Classic. Two of the three matches ended in less than a minute.
Savannah Korell, Emmett: First-round pins in the semifinals and finals propelled her to the 135-pound title at the Calhoun Classic.
