Winners of the Treasure Valley athlete of the week contests (Nov. 15 to 21)

Voting has closed in the latest Treasure Valley Athletes of the Week contest.

Here are the winners. You can read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.

  • Football: Brett Spencer, Weiser
  • Girls basketball: Ainsley Johnson, Liberty Charter

FOOTBALL

Brett Spencer, Weiser: Finished with 226 total yards and two TDs on offense, and made two interceptions and the 3A state title-winning tackle on defense in the Wolverines’ 34-33, double-overtime victory over Sugar-Salem.

Note: Weiser was the only local team playing in last week’s state championship round. So Spencer is the athlete of the week.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Katy Wentz, Garden Valley: Averaged 24.7 points and 13.7 rebounds while leading the Wolverines to a 3-0 week with wins over Wilder, Greenleaf and Victory Charter.

Alondra Osuna, Vallivue: Had 12 points, six steals and four rebounds in a 49-30 loss at Capital.

Mikale Roy, Owyhee: The freshman racked up 18 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in a 65-28 victory at Kuna.

Olivia Irwin, Nampa Christian: Averaged 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 steals while shooting 63% from the field to lead the Trojans to wins over Payette and Liberty Charter.

Graycie Huff, Fruitland: Finished the week averaging a double-double of 18.3 points and 10.3 rebounds. She led the Grizzlies to wins over Vallivue and Nampa, and a loss to Columbia.

Demi Thompson, Mountain View: Averaged 19 points, six rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.5 assists in the Mavericks’ wins over Meridian and Borah.

Kyla Clouthier, Riverstone: Racked up 32 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and four steals in the Otters’ 51-24 win over Vision Charter to open the season.

Sophia Glancey, Timberline: Averaged 19 points and 9.3 rebounds to lead the Wolves to wins over Borah, Owyhee and Eagle to open the year.

Ellie Fraas, Cole Valley Christian: Scored 16 points to lead the Chargers to a 55-47 win at Parma, then added 25 points in a 60-55 win vs. Filer.

Ainsley Johnson, Liberty Charter: Poured in 26 points and added three steals in the Patriots’ 42-29 win against Glenns Ferry.

Emily Vanosdall, Marsing: Averaged 12 points, 6.7 rebounds and six steals for the Huskies in three games last week.
