Winners of the Treasure Valley athlete of the week contests (Nov. 8 to 14)

Voting has closed in the latest Treasure Valley Athletes of the Week contest.

Here are the winners. You can read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.

  • Football: Ian Duarte, Eagle
  • Girls basketball: Emma Atchley, Owyhee

FOOTBALL

Brett Spencer, Weiser: Threw five touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Wolverines to a 49-27 win at Gooding in the 3A state semifinals.

Ian Duarte, Eagle: Only needed six offensive touches to rack up 252 total yards and two TDs in the Mustangs’ 29-27 loss to Highland in the 5A state semifinals.

Kross Antonnacchi, Meridian: Turned 17 offensive touches into 65 total yards and three touchdowns in the Warriors’ 55-49, triple-overtime loss to Rigby in the 5A state semifinals.

Hayden Kincheloe, Homedale: Ran for 86 yards on 18 carries in the Trojans’ 16-7 loss to Sugar-Salem in the 3A state semifinals.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Ava Oakland, Boise: Poured in 18 points and shot 3-for-3 behind the 3-point line in a 54-28 win over Lewiston on opening night. She also signed a letter of intent to play at Carroll College next season.

Naya Ojukwu, Mountain View: Racked up 24 points and 15 rebounds in a 62-51 win over Lewiston on Saturday. She also signed a letter of intent to play basketball and volleyball at Utah next season.

Jayden McNeal, Borah: Scored 25 points to lead the Lions to a 52-47 win over Middleton on Friday.

Emma Atchley, Owyhee: Led the Storm to a 54-25 win in their debut with a game-high 20 points.

Brooklyn Dayley, Melba: Racked up 16 points, five steals and three assists in the Mustangs 38-35 win over Parma.

Shae Olsen, Greenleaf: Poured in 25 points and added eight rebounds in the Grizzlies’ 64-36 victory against Cascade.
