Boise-area athletes spurred another round of upsets in the state football playoffs and brought home a mountain of state swimming championship medals.

Nominations are submitted by area coaches or taken from stats reported to the Idaho Statesman.
FOOTBALL
Hayden Kincheloe, Homedale: Ran for 256 yards and four TDs on 24 carries to carry the Trojans to a 35-10 win over South Fremont in the 3A state quarterfinals.
Corbin Meisner, Meridian: The defensive lineman recovered a fumble and made an interception, two of the Warriors’ six turnovers in a 35-6 upset of No. 1 Mountain View in the 5A state quarterfinals.
Roy Hull, Eagle: Ran for 97 yards and two TDs on 19 carries, leading the Mustangs to a 23-14 upset at Coeur d’Alene in the 5A state quarterfinals. It was Eagle’s first road playoff win since 2009.
Jacob Olson, Capital: Ran for 117 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles’ 41-14 loss at Rigby in the 5A state quarterfinals.
Seth Knothe, Bishop Kelly: Finished the season with 118 yards and a TD on 22 carries in a 28-17 loss at Pocatello in the 4A state quarterfinals.
Santi Diaz, Vallivue: Had a hand in both of the Falcons’ touchdowns in a 24-14 loss to Skyline in the 4A state quarterfinals. He finished the night with 156 total yards and two TDs.
Gabe Shaffer, Melba: Ran for 103 yards on 13 carries and caught a 47-yard TD pass in the Mustangs’ 44-38 loss to North Fremont in the 2A state quarterfinals.

GIRLS SWIMMING
Jillian Moses, Timberline: Won her fourth straight 5A state title in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.39). She also added a first-place finish in the 200 individual medley (2:08.20).
Kayla Wieckowski, Boise: Left the 5A state meet with three first-medal medals. She won her third straight 500 freestyle (5:06.46), repeated as the 200 freestyle champ (1:54.29) and swam the anchor leg of the winning 200 freestyle relay team.
Brianna Ruark, Skyview: Led the Hawks to a third-place team finish with a 100 butterfly title (56.72) and as part of the winning 200 medley relay.
Ansley Pittard, Rocky Mountain: Won the 5A 50 freestyle at 24.57 seconds and finished second in the 100 freestyle (53.65), leading the Grizzlies to a fourth-place finish as a team.
Emma Conger, Bishop Kelly: Left the 4A state meet with four first-place medals to lead BK to the team title. She won individual titles in the 100 backstroke (1:03.20) and 100 butterfly (1:02.79), and she was part of the winning 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams.
Lari Zhang, Owyhee: The freshman finished fourth in the 500 freestyle at 5:38.60.

BOYS SWIMMING
Ben Stucky, Boise: Racked up four first-place finishes as the Brave ran away with the 5A team title for the seventh straight year. He repeated as the 100-yard backstroke champ (51.62), added another individual title in the 200 individual medley (1:57.14) and swam legs of Boise’s 400 freestyle and 200 medley relay teams.
Shae Stratton, Bishop Kelly: Helped the Knights rack up 80 points en route to the 4A team title. He won the 100 backstroke (53.23) and was part of the winning 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams.
Max Wolf, Timberline: Repeated as the 5A boys 100 breaststroke champ (57.31) and swam the anchor leg of the Wolves’ championship 200 freestyle relay.
Terungwa Tardzer, Centennial: Won a close race to the finish and took home the 5A 50 freestyle title at 21.48 seconds.
Bryant Cox, Meridian: Set a school record in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.00) in the prelims and finished third at the 5A state meet.
