Winners of the Treasure Valley athlete of the week contests (Oct. 25 to 31)
Voting has closed in the latest Treasure Valley Athletes of the Week contest sponsored by Edmark Toyota.
Here are the winners. You can read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.
- Football: Kross Antonnacchi, Meridian
- Cross country: Grady Mylander, Nampa Christian
- Volleyball: Katie Compas, Parma
FOOTBALL
Seth Knothe, Bishop Kelly: Ran for 196 yards and four TDs, averaging 7.5 yards per carry, to lead the Knights to a 49-21 win over Twin Falls in the first round of the 4A state playoffs.
Gage Jones, Eagle: Recovered a fumble and made an interception to lead the Mustangs’ defensive effort in a 31-15 win over Borah in the first round of the 5A state playoffs.
Daniel Carrillo, Nampa: Ran for 177 yards and two TDs on 29 carries as the Bulldogs upset Emmett 37-29 on the road in the first round of the 4A state playoffs.
Kross Antonnacchi, Meridian: Ran for 99 yards and two TDs, and caught another touchdown as the Warriors won their first playoff game since 2007 with a 47-28 victory vs. Madison.
Tyler Medaris, Middleton: Caught 10 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings’ 52-24 loss at Blackfoot in the first round of the 4A state playoffs.
TerRyek Pennington, Skyview: Turned nine catches into 222 yards and three TDs, and made nine tackles, including two for a loss, in the Hawks’ 45-28 loss to Highland in the first round of the 5A state playoffs.
Kody Walk, Capital: Racked up five sacks, and ran for 84 yards and two TDs on 10 carries as the Eagles knocked off Lewiston 44-13 in the first round of the 5A state playoffs.
Santi Diaz, Vallivue: Ran for 40 yards and two TDs, and threw for 158 yards and another score to lead the Falcons to a 28-12 upset of No. 1-ranked Minico on the road.

CROSS COUNTRY
Grady Mylander, Nampa Christian: Turned in the fastest time in any state meet to win the 2A boys individual crown at 15:15.77.
Allie Bruce, Boise: Finished atop the 5A girls individual podium at 17:47.88, leading the Brave to their fourth straight team title with the fastest time for any Idaho girl.
Ian Stockett, Victory Charter: Won the 1A boys individual title and helped the Vipers to the team championship at 15:59.12.
Cameron Moore, Ambrose: Cruised to the 2A girls individual title at 19:05.79 — 29.2 seconds ahead of the next closest runner.
Trent Wigod, Rocky Mountain: Finished second in the 5A boys individual race at 15:36.92, leading the Grizzlies to the team title.
Emma Hillam, Fruitland: Took up the runner-up medal in the 3A girls individual race at 18:53.58.

VOLLEYBALL
Eden Bower, Skyview: Led the Hawks to back-to-back 5A state titles with 21 kills, one ace, nine digs and three blocks to sweep Madison in the finals.
Annelie Wilson, Horseshoe Bend: Ensured the Mustangs finished an undefeated season with the 1A Division II state title, racking up 14 kills, 11 digs and three aces to sweep Rockland in the finals.
Katie Compas, Parma: Led the Panthers to a runner-up finish at the 3A state tournament, their best since 2013, with 41 kills, nine aces, 198 assists and 64 digs at the tournament.
Mylie Mills, Columbia: The Wildcats finished one win shy of a 4A state tournament trophy behind the junior, who had 27 kills, seven aces, 37 digs and 14 blocks in three matches.
