Winners of the Treasure Valley athletes of the week contest (Sept. 28 to Oct. 4)
Voting has closed in the latest Treasure Valley Athletes of the Week contest sponsored by Edmark Toyota.
Here are the winners. You can read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.
- Football: Justus Del Rio, Capital
- Volleyball: Whitney Stettler, Ridgevue
- Boys soccer: Nic Taugher, Bishop Kelly
- Girls soccer: Laken Gallagher, Timberline
- Cross country: Marcus Heemeyer, Rocky Mountain
FOOTBALL
Cade Salois, Skyview: The senior ran for 142 yards and a TD to lead the Hawks to a 27-13 win over Borah. He also caught three passes for 58 yards, finishing with 200 total yards of offense.
Jacob Butler, Nampa: The senior caught the game-winning, 9-yard touchdown with 55 seconds left as the Bulldogs knocked off previously undefeated Vallivue 35-28. He finished with nine catches for 145 yards and three TDs. He also made eight tackles on defense.
Kayden Chan, Mountain View: The senior caught five passes for 163 yards and a TD, and he returned a punt 75 yards for another score as the Mavericks beat Centennial 58-14. It was the Mavericks’ first win of the season.
Jackson Stampli, Eagle: The senior ran for 130 yards and three TDs on 16 carries, leading the Mustangs to a 49-21 win over previously undefeated Meridian.
Jordan Erickson, Rocky Mountain: The senior finished with 162 total yards and four TDs on 10 offensive touches as the Grizzlies routed Kuna 54-15.
Justus Del Rio, Capital: The senior returned a pick-six interception 85 yards and hauled in a 28-yard TD pass as the Eagles beat Boise 48-0 — their 31st straight win over their Boise School District rivals.
Jaxon Dines, Homedale: The sophomore had a hand in four touchdowns as the Trojans beat Parma 42-0. He finished 7-of-9 for 112 yards and three TDs through the air, and he ran for 55 yards and another score.
Javon Lindeman, New Plymouth: The senior’s pick-six interception in the third quarter gave the Pilgrims their first lead in a come-from-behind, 42-28 win over Nampa Christian. He also ran for 127 yards and two TDs.
Carter Woodland, Notus: The sophomore turned six carries into 150 yards and three TDs in a 56-0 win over Greenleaf.

VOLLEYBALL
Mylie Mills, Columbia: The sophomore team captain tallied 11 kills, two digs and one stuff block in a three-set victory over Caldwell.
Whitney Stettler, Ridgevue: The senior and three-year starter racked up 17 kills, 10 digs and six aces in a four-set to loss to Nampa.

BOYS SOCCER
Alex Cruz, Caldwell: The senior anchored a defense that posted two more shutouts as part of a 3-0 week. The only goal the Cougars allowed last week came late with a big lead.
Triston Kautz, Weiser: The senior midfielder had six defensive clears, four crosses and two shots on goal in a 2-0 loss to McCall-Donnelly.
Nick Liebich, Boise: The senior central defender racked up five goals and one assist during a 3-0 week for the Brave. He scored at least one goal in each game.
Nic Taugher, Bishop Kelly: The junior netted a hat trick in an 8-1 win vs. Nampa as the Knights (5-0-0) remained perfect.
Juan Osuna, Vallivue: The senior racked up five goals and an assist in two victories for the Falcons.

GIRLS SOCCER
Isis Villafane, Ridgevue: The sophomore scored three of the Warhawks’ five goals in a 5-0 win over Emmett.
Ali Chatterton, Bishop Kelly: The senior finished with three goals and an assist in a 7-2 win over previously undefeated Columbia. The win gave the Knights sole possession of first place in the 4A SIC.
Avery McBride, Mountain View: The junior racked up five goals and two assists in a 10-0 win vs. Meridian.
Kaitlyn Slocum, Rocky Mountain: The sophomore scored twice to lead the Grizzlies to a 4-0 win over Mountain View in a key 5A SIC West Division game.
Laken Gallagher, Timberline: The sophomore scored twice and added an assist in the Wolves’ 4-0 win over Skyview.

CROSS COUNTRY
Sam Fish, Vallivue: The sophomore won a boys’ tri-meet with Columbia and Emmett in 16 minutes, 37.15 seconds — his third straight first-place finish.
Marcus Heemeyer, Rocky Mountain: The senior won a boys’ tri-meet with Ridgevue and Kuna in 15:54.23, his third straight win and a personal best by 16 seconds.
Grady Mylander, Nampa Christian: The junior won a boys’ 2A WIC conference title at Marsing High with a time of 15:32.30. That’s the fastest time in Idaho so far this season.
Cameron Moore, Ambrose: The sophomore won a girls’ 2A WIC conference title with a time of 19:20.52 — 55 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Alexia Corona, Ridgevue: The junior turned in the second fastest time in the 4A girls ranks this season by winning a tri-meet with Kuna and Rocky Mountain at 18:48.10.
Sophie McManus, McCall-Donnelly: The junior posted the fastest time in the 3A girls ranks by finishing third at the Inland Empire Challenge in 18:47.10.
