Winners of the Treasure Valley athletes of the week (Feb. 3 to 9)
Voting has closed in the latest Treasure Valley Athletes of the Week contest sponsored by Edmark Toyota.
Here are the winners. You can read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.
- Girls basketball: Annie Stinar, Centennial
- Boys basketball: Tyler Clayton, Mountain View
- Wrestling: Hunter Bidelman, Caldwell
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Sydney Nichols, Council: The sophomore averaged 22 points, four rebounds and three steals over three games in the 1A Division II District Three tournament, leading the Lumberjacks to the second-place game.
Laila Saenz, Mountain View: The senior scored 15 points, grabbed five rebounds and swiped four steals to lead the Mavericks to a 54-52, come-from-behind win over Boise in the 5A District Three tournament semifinals.
Ava Ranson, Timberline: The senior and 5A SIC’s leading scorer poured in 29 points to lead the Wolves to a 59-44 win over Meridian in the 5A District Three tournament semifinals. The win guaranteed Timberline a state tournament berth.
Megan Hancock, Parma: The senior racked up 30 points and seven steals as the Panthers routed Payette 75-28 in the first round of the 3A District Three tournament and advanced to the district finals.
Peyton McFarland, Boise: The senior recorded a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Brave to a 62-32 win over Rocky Mountain in the first round of the 5A District Three tournament.
Gemma LaVergne, Emmett: The senior racked up 18 points, 13 rebounds, five steals and three assists to carry the Huskies to a 57-52, overtime win over Ridgevue in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Miaja Mills, Kuna: The senior recorded a pair of double-doubles last week. She started with 17 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Columbia. Then she added 11 points and 16 rebounds in a first-round 4A district tournament win over Nampa.
Annie Stinar, Centennial: The sophomore tallied 22 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three blocks to lead the Patriots to a 56-43 win over Skyview in the play-in round of the 5A District Three tournament.
Jaleesa Lawrence, Meridian: The junior had 21 points, five rebounds and four steals to lead the Warriors to a 46-42 victory over Eagle in the first round of the 5A District Three tournament.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Tyler Clayton, Mountain View: The junior averaged 17 points and six rebounds to lead the Mavericks to wins over Capital (76-69) and Centennial (59-43).
Noah White, Mountain View: The junior averaged seven assists in the Mavericks’ two victories last week, including nine assists in a win over Capital. He averaged nine points, seven rebounds and three steals for the week as well.
Tyler Robinett, Middleton: The senior had 17 points, six rebounds and three steals in a 20-point win over Caldwell. Then he added 19 points, 12 rebounds, five blocks and three assists in a four-point win vs. Bishop Kelly.
Donovan Sanor, Meridian: The senior led Meridian with 20 points in a 69-51 win over Centennial.
Paul Yenor, Ambrose: The senior poured in 27 points to lead the Archers to a 76-35 victory over Victory Charter.
Nick Wolter, Bishop Kelly: The senior recorded a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Knights knocked off Kuna 58-57.
Briggs Ranstrom, Rocky Mountain: The senior had 16 points, six rebounds and four blocks to lead the No. 1-ranked Grizzlies to a 65-37 blowout win over No. 5 Borah. Rocky Mountain clinched the 5A SIC regular-season conference title with the victory.
Austin Bolt, Borah: The senior racked up 22 points and nine rebounds to lead the Lions to a 61-43 win over Skyview.
Isaas Albor, Ridgevue: The senior dropped 27 points on Columbia to carry the Warhawks to a 57-50 victory.

WRESTLING
Hunter Bidelman, Caldwell: The freshman won the 120-pound division at the Weiser Invite, pinning every opponent he faced to improve to 45-3 on the season.
Angel Rios, Columbia: The senior eked out a 5-4 decision in the 152-pound finals to win the Weiser Invite and improve to 42-2. His first-place finish helped Columbia win the team title.
Greg Gissel, Fruitland: The junior pinned every opponent he faced to win the 220-pound bracket at the Weiser Invite. Only his championship match went to the second round, when he pinned Capital’s Charley Hastriter in 3 minutes, 21 seconds.
Joel Campbell, New Plymouth: The sophomore won the 145-pound division at the Pine Eagle Invite, pinning his opponent in the finals in 2 minutes, 39 seconds.
Layne Feasel Dalton, Emmett: The junior won the 182-pound title at the Challis Invite with an 3-1 overtime victory over West Jefferson’s Bubba Summers.
