Winners of the Treasure Valley athletes of the week (Jan. 27 to Feb. 2)

Voting has closed in the latest Treasure Valley Athletes of the Week contest sponsored by Edmark Toyota.

Here are the winners. You can read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.

  • Girls basketball: Jordan Dayley, Melba
  • Boys basketball:Townsend Tripple, Rocky Mountain
  • Wrestling: Domnic Bush-Bly, Vallivue

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Miaja Mills, Kuna: The senior averaged 18.5 points and 11 rebounds in two games last week, including a 21-point, 12-rebound performance in a 68-62 win at Emmett.

Graci Kolka, Meridian: The senior averaged 13 points and shot over 50 percent from the field to lead the Warriors to wins over Eagle and Boise.

Anna Schmautz, Bishop Kelly: The sophomore averaged 17.5 points as the Knights beat Bishop Kelly and Ridgevue. She also added five assists over the two games.

Trinity Slocum, Mountain View: The junior racked up 17 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to lead the Mavericks to a 62-27 win over Centennial.

Madison Hodnett, Liberty Charter: The junior recorded another double-double with 19 points, 11 rebounds and three steals in a 34-27 win over Greenleaf. She then added 24 points, eight rebounds and four blocks to lead the Patriots to a 44-19 victory at Riverstone.

Kaija Zoller, Riverstone: The sophomore had nine points, 17 rebounds, four blocks and four steals in the Otters’ 35-32 win at Victory Charter.

Jasmyne Boles, Vallivue: The junior flirted with a triple-double with eight points, 15 rebounds and 12 blocks in a 42-32 win at Columbia.

Makayla DeBry, Rocky Mountain: The senior was all over the floor in the Grizzlies’ win over Centennial, finishing with seven points, eight rebounds, seven steals and five assists.

Jordan Dayley, Melba: The senior paced the Mustangs with 26 points in an 85-31 win over Marsing.

Adyson Harris, Parma: The senior racked up 19 points, six assists and five rebounds as the Panthers beat Homedale 57-15.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Tyler Medaris, Middleton: The sophomore stepped up with Tyler Robinett sidelined, tallying 11 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks in a win over Vallivue. He then added 21 points, four rebounds and five blocks to beat Ridgevue.

Tanner Hayhurst, Eagle: The senior and 5A SIC’s leading scorer led the Mustangs to road wins over Capital and Centennial. He averaged 28 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the two victories.

Michael Onaindia, Cascade: The senior racked up 22 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Ramblers to a 94-74 win over Salmon River.

Sean Austin, Kuna: The junior and 4A SIC’s leading scorer recorded a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds as the Kavemen beat Caldwell 62-33.

Bayler Perrin, Mountain View: The sophomore tallied 16 points and seven rebounds to lead the Mavericks to a 55-52 win over Timberline.

Townsend Tripple, Rocky Mountain: The senior dominated in a 63-33 win over Timberline, finishing with 24 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks on 10-for-16 shooting.

Merrick Hall, Marsing: The senior racked up 19 points and seven rebounds as Marsing beat McCall-Donnelly 48-38 to remain atop the 2A WIC standings.

Brett Spencer, Weiser: The sophomore scored 21 points to secure the Wolverines a 56-43 win over Homedale.

WRESTLING

Kyle Rice, New Plymouth: The sophomore pinned every opponent he faced to win the 120-pound title at the North Idaho Rumble.

Domnic Bush-Bly, Vallivue: The junior won the 170-pound title at the Red Halverson Invite, pinning four of the five opponents he faced. He won the title match with a pin.

Simon Alberto Luna, Nampa: The freshman won the 106-pound title at Red Halverson, beating Kuna’s Anderson White with a 10-7 decision in the finals.

Preston Owens, Kuna: The junior brought home the 145-pound title from Red Halverson, helping the Kavemen win the team title.
