Winners of the Treasure Valley athletes of the week (Jan. 20 to 26)
Voting has closed for the latest Treasure Valley Athletes of the Week contest sponsored by Edmark Toyota.
Here are the winners, and you can read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.
- Girls basketball: Madison Hodnett, Liberty Charter
- Boys basketball: Straton Rogers, Rocky Mountain
- Wrestling: Payton Lanningham, Columbia
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Mary Meeks, North Star Charter: The junior scored 23 points and added five assists in the Huskies’ 51-35 league win vs. Wilder .
Kaija Zoller, Riverstone: The sophomore racked up 17 points, 16 rebounds and six steals as the Otters upset No. 5-ranked Greenleaf 38-37.
Allie Guerricabeitia, Boise: The senior scored 15 points in a win over Skyview, then added 11 points as part of a comeback attempt against Eagle before dislocating her ankle in the third quarter.
Ali Chatterton, Bishop Kelly: The junior averaged 17.3 points in three games last week, including a career-high 29 points in a 59-47 win at Vallivue. She also averaged 3.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds for the week.
Betsey King, Eagle: The senior led the Mustangs to a pair of big wins. She scored 20 points in just over two quarters in a 64-21 win vs. Skyview. She then added 25 points, four assists and two steals in a 61-58 victory over No. 3-ranked Boise.
Holly Harbison, Compass Charter: The junior recorded a double-double of 11 points and 14 rebounds while adding two steals and two blocks vs. Victory Charter. She also had nine rebounds, five assists and two blocks vs. Ambrose.
Emma Ellinghouse, Timberline: The senior racked up 18 points and 17 rebounds for the Wolves in a 67-16 win vs. Skyview.
Jasmyne Boles, Vallivue: The junior nearly recorded a triple-double with 23 points, 12 rebounds and eight steals in a 57-28 win vs. Ridgevue. She then added 19 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and six steals in a 54-44 win over Emmett.
Adyson Harris, Parma: The senior stuffed the stat sheet with 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds in a 58-21 win at Payette.
Madison Hodnett, Liberty Charter: The junior notched a pair of double-doubles for the Patriots. She scored 24 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in a win over Notus, then added 25 points and 17 rebounds to beat Victory Charter.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Dionicio Elton, Liberty Charter: The senior averaged 24.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent behind the 3-point line in the Patriots’ wins over Notus and Victory Charter.
Covy Kelly, Garden Valley: The junior scored a school-record 54 points in a 100-75 victory over Long Pin rival Cascade. He also tied a school record with eight 3-pointers.
Sean Austin, Kuna: The junior racked up 22 points, five steals and three assists to lead the Kavemen to a 61-38 win at Nampa. He then added 17 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 67-43 win vs. Vallivue.
Mathew Flake, Ridgevue: The senior averaged 21.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and two steals in two games last week, including his fifth double-double of the season.
Jacob Ankeny, Marsing: The junior recorded a pair of double-doubles. He had 18 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Payette, then added 13 points, 16 rebounds and seven blocks in a 36-35, overtime victory at Melba.
Brody Rowbury, Meridian: The junior racked up 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Warriors to a 63-57, overtime win at Timberline.
Jack Payne, Boise: The sophomore erupted for 14 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and four steals in Boise’s 55-39 win at Capital.
Austin Bolt, Borah: The senior recorded two more double-doubles in two wins. He had 17 points and 20 rebounds in a blowout victory at Centennial, then added 25 points and 16 rebounds in a 14-point win over Eagle.
Straton Rogers, Rocky Mountain: The senior racked up 23 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and two blocks in the Grizzlies’ 71-58 victory against Boise.

WRESTLING
Marissa Jimenez, Caldwell: The sophomore pinned every opponent she faced before the end of the second round to win the 130-pound bracket at the girls-only Jaybird Invite.
Payton Lanningham, Columbia: The senior won the 143-pound division at the Jaybird Invite, a tournament named after her late grandfather. She pinned every opponent in the first round.
Trent Myers, New Plymouth: The sophomore won the 138-pound division at the R.D. Brown Invitational. Between the tournament and duals, he won seven matches last week.
Lukas Kanownik, Boise: The sophomore won the 106-pound division at R.D. Brown for his third major tournament title of the season.
Kooper vonBrethorst, Weiser: The junior pinned Meridian’s Cade Hernandez to win the 126-pound division at R.D. Brown.
Isai Arriaga, Marsing: The junior pinned every opponent he faced to win the 170-pound title at R.D. Brown and improve to 26-1 on the season.
