Idaho colleges roundup: NNU wins first GNAC baseball title

Northwest Nazarene swept Concordia at home, capping the two-game series with a 9-8 win Saturday to claim the program’s first championship. The Crusaders (28-20, 23-15) are co-champions with Montana State Billings, but thanks to a tiebreaker, NNU will be the No. 1 seed and host the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Tournament on Thursday and Friday at Vail Field. Schedule is TBA.

LEWIS-CLARK STATE BASEBALL: The Warriors earned their third straight shutout, defeating British Columbia 3-0 and advancing to the championship of the NAIA West Grouping Championships. LCSC (47-7) awaits the winner of Sunday’s College of Idaho-British Columbia semifinal. The championship is set for 4 p.m. MT Sunday, with an if-necessary game Monday.

BOISE STATE SOFTBALL: San Jose State shut out the Broncos 13-0 behind three home runs at Dona Larsen Park. Boise State (13-35, 5-15 Mountain West) will close out the season at noon Sunday, when it hosts the Spartans on Senior Day. The Broncos will honor seniors Kayla Clausen, Ariel Frantz, Teauna Hughes and Nicole Wilson after the game.

IDAHO WOMEN’S GOLF: The Vandals (911) finished the season 15th at the NCAA Stanford Regional. Stanford and USC tied for the title at 856.
