Ready for Senior Night? Kickoff time for Boise State’s final home game is set
Boise State football’s last home game finally has a kickoff time and channel.
The Broncos’ penultimate game of the regular season, against Colorado State on Saturday, will kick off at 5 p.m. and air on Fox Sports 1.
The kickoff time was announced as part of Fox’s six-day scheduling window, which allows the network more flexibility after weekend results.
Boise State’s 17-7 loss at San Diego State on Saturday night put a big dent in the Broncos’ season and hurt their chances of playing in the Mountain West championship game. The Aztecs now sit at the top of the Mountain West standings with a 5-1 conference record, while the Broncos have fallen into a five-way tie for second place at 4-2, alongside Fresno State, UNLV, New Mexico and Hawaii.
As such, Boise State’s game against struggling Colorado State (2-8, 1-5) holds somewhat less intrigue in the college football world than if the Broncos had beaten San Diego State.
That being said, BSU still can win its final two games and possibly keep alive its hope of winning three straight Mountain West title games. Who plays for the conference championship on Friday, Dec. 5, likely will come down to tiebreakers. San Diego State just has to win out and it will host the game.
Boise State and the Rams have faced off 13 times, with Boise State winning 12. The one loss came in the most recent matchup, when Colorado State won 31-30 thanks to a 33-yard tipped pass that became a Hail Mary touchdown as time expired in 2023.
With this kickoff time set, the Broncos’ regular-season schedule is complete. Boise State will travel to Logan, Utah, to play Utah State on Nov. 28, the day after Thanksgiving, to end the campaign. That game will kick off at 2 p.m. and air nationally on CBS.
Considering BSU has only the slightest of chances of hosting the Mountain West championship game, should the team make it, next weekend’s game will be the final one on The Blue for many players. The Broncos have not lost a Senior Night game since 2015, when they fell to Air Force.
