Boise State’s Jeanty has 3 TDs, matches Bo Jackson. Watch the plays here

Former Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty announced himself to the NFL on Sunday.

After a slow start to his pro career — in large part due to an offensive line that provides little running room — Jeanty exploded for a three-touchdown, 155-yard performance for the Las Vegas Raiders this weekend against the Chicago Bears.

Unfortunately for Jeanty, his breakout performance still wasn’t enough to drag the Raiders to victory. The Raiders had a late field goal blocked and lost 25-24 at home, dropping to 1-3 on the season.

Jeanty, who was drafted sixth overall by the Raiders in the 2025 NFL Draft, already had scored his first touchdown in the league: a 3-yard touchdown against the New England Patriots in Week 1.

But he was yet to show the nation what he showed Boise State fans the past couple of years: explosive speed, broken tackles, and lengthy game-changing plays.

He finally managed to put it all together against the Bears. Jeanty scored all three touchdowns for the Raiders, rushing for 138 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries, while picking up another 17 yards and two touchdowns on two receptions.

He became the first Raiders running back to record a rushing touchdown, a receiving touchdown and three touchdowns total since Bo Jackson did so in November 1987.

His first reception opened the scoring for the Raiders, as he ran out of the backfield and caught a pass from quarterback Geno Smith, broke a weak tackle and ran the in for an 8-yard touchdown.

However, it was Jeanty’s second touchdown that caught the nation’s attention. Finding a rare gap produced by the Raiders’ O-line, Jeanty sprang free and turned on the jets down the left hashmarks, breaking a tackle before finding his way into the end zone for a 64-yard rushing touchdown.

Jeanty capped off his big day in the third quarter with a 9-yard receiving touchdown, catching a pass in the red zone before spinning off his defender and powering into the end zone.

The next chance for Bronco fans to watch Jeanty will be next weekend, when the Raiders travel to Indianapolis to face the Colts at 11 a.m. Mountain time on Sunday.
