The Boise State football team dipped back into the transfer portal on Wednesday and picked up a commitment from Cerritos College safety Milo Lopez.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound native of Whittier, California, was the third transfer to join the Broncos’ 2023 recruiting class on Wednesday. He followed former Utah pass rusher Tyler Wegis and former Northern Arizona defensive tackle Sheldon Newton.

Lopez is the seventh transfer in the class, which also includes safety Titus Toler (Wisconsin), wide receiver Chase Penry (Colorado), pass rusher Kivon Wright (Boston College) and cornerback A’Marion McCoy (Laney College).

Lopez spent the past two seasons at Cerritos College, where he posted 101 tackles and two interceptions. Both of his picks came in his freshman season, and he posted 68 tackles last year.

He could join a retooled secondary at Boise State. Safeties JL Skinner and Tyreque Jones, and cornerbacks Caleb Biggers and Tyric LeBeauf are all preparing to test the waters in the NFL.
