Dominating performances on offense and defense led to a convincing win in Reno, as the Broncos bounced back from a loss to BYU and kept pace for a Mountain West championship.

After taking a detour from conference play in a 31-28 setback to regional rival BYU last week, Boise State returns to Mountain West action to take on another familiar foe: Nevada.

The Broncos (6-3, 5-0) will put their undefeated conference record on the line Saturday night against the Wolf Pack (2-7, 0-5) in Reno in the teams’ 45th meeting — the most Boise State has played any one team.

A win would keep the Broncos on track for a Mountain West championship game appearance, and would avenge a 41-31 loss to the Wolf Pack in Boise last season.

Beat writers Ron Counts (@Ron_BroncoBeat) and Rachel Roberts (@ByRachelRoberts) and newsroom assistant editor Jim Keyser will fill you in on all the action with live updates below.

Broncos will miss top pass rushers

Boise State will be without its top two pass rushers tonight.

Linebacker Ezekiel Noa and edge rusher Demitri Washington are both out, Boise State announced just before kickoff. They’re tied with a team-high 4.5 sacks apiece this season.

Both players were injured after they collided on the first play of last week’s loss to BYU. Noa returned to the game but wasn’t moving very well. Washington didn’t return.

Their absence likely means more playing time for former Rocky Mountain High School standout Ty Tanner at middle linebacker and a combination of Gabe Hunter and Deven Wright at edge.

The Broncos will also be without left guard Garrett Curran for the second straight game. Ben Dooley, who returned from injury just last week, will start in his place, and Kekaniokoa Holomalia-Gonzalez will start at center.

Nose tackle Jackson Cravens, wide receiver Cole Wright and kicker Will Ferrin are also out tonight with undisclosed injuries.
