Fans guide: How to watch, attend Boise State’s football game against BYU

With BYU’s scheduled move to the Big 12 next season, the Boise State-BYU rivalry will come to an end for the time being.

But not before an 11th straight matchup kicks off at 5 p.m. Saturday at Albertsons Stadium.

The Cougars have lost four in a row this season after a promising 4-1 start. Boise State, which has won four straight since starting 2-2, leads the all-time series 8-4.

WHERE TO FIND THE TV BROADCAST

Boise State will be on Fox Sports 2 this week. That’s channel 148 on Sparklight, 618 on DirecTV and 149 on Dish Network.

Series: Boise State is 8-4 in its all-time series with BYU, which dates back to 2003. The rivals have played one another every season since 2012.

BRONCO WALK

Beginning 2 hours and 40 minutes before kickoff, the Bronco football team will walk from the Student Union Building, along Bronco Lane and through the Larry and Marianne Williams Plaza to the Allen Noble Hall of Fame. New this year will be the addition of fireworks to signal the start of the Bronco Walk.

PARKING

When do I gain access to the parking lot on Bronco football game days? On Saturdays, Bronco fans gain access to stadium lots 8 hours prior to game time.

When do I have to be out of my parking space after a Bronco football game? Bronco fans are required to vacate the lot one hour after the game ends. Failure to comply with this could subject you to having your vehicle towed off of campus.

Stueckle Sky Center Patrons: Reserved parking passes are provided in the packet for seats in the Stueckle Sky Center. The majority of parking for patrons is located in the West Lot of Albertsons Stadium with some available in the East Lot and Bronco Circle.

BAA Members: As a BAA member, you may be eligible for parking in reserved lots. Contact the Bronco Athletic Association to learn more about this benefit.

Non-BAA Members: The Lincoln Parking garage on the corner of University Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue will be available again this year. Non-reserved spaces will be available for $85 for the season. Game-day parking will be available for individual sales based on availability.

FREE DOWNTOWN SHUTTLE

Game-day shuttles will run to and from downtown for each home game this season. Before the game, downtown pickups occur every 15 minutes for 2 hours prior to game time at:

  • 8th & Main (Bronco Shop)
  • 8th & Idaho (Diablo & Sons)
  • 6th & Grove (Bardenay)
  • 8th & Broad (Solid)
  • River St. between 12th & Ash (Payette)
  • 6th & Broad (Boise Brewing)

Fans are dropped off on the east side of Albertsons Stadium just off Broadway Avenue. After the game, fans are picked up again on the east side of the stadium and taken back downtown. The shuttle runs for one hour after the game is over. There is an accessible shuttle in rotation during the shuttle service times and it can be requested for pick up at any of six pickup/dropoff locations. To request an accessible shuttle, please tell the driver of any of the shuttles that arrive and they will radio the request over to get the appropriate driver.

FORD FAN ZONE

This free, public space will be open along a section of Bronco Lane between DeChevrieux Field and the Larry and Marianne Williams Plaza beginning four hours prior to kickoff of each Bronco home game. The upgraded space will feature: rotating food trucks and concession stands; sports gardens featuring alcohol sales; Bronco Kids Club booth with inflatables; two-hour pregame Bronco Tailgate Show featuring Rick Worthington and Mike Prater on the Hall of Fame Plaza, beginning three hours prior to kickoff; corporate partner booths along Bronco Lane; a front-row seat to the Bronco Walk.

BRONCO ALLEY

Located on the east side of the stadium, Bronco Alley will feature food trucks, extra beverage stands and additional restrooms. Bronco Alley will be open to the east stadium parking lot for two hours, starting four hours prior to kickoff. It will briefly close before reopening to the east concourse once gates are open. The food trucks at Bronco Alley for each game will be:

  • Nov. 5 vs. BYU: El Gallo Giro, Fly, Mad Mac
  • Nov. 25 vs. Utah State: Basilio’s Tacos, Royal, Rusty

Western Heating Noise Meter: Get ready to crank up the chaos with microphones throughout the stadium capturing how loud Bronco Nation truly is.

40-Yard Blitz: Positive Pets presents the 40-yard Blitz where one lucky contestant will try to beat Blitz at retrieving a tee.

Blue Chaos Flag: Prior to kickoff of each game a special guest will raise the Blue Chaos flag once Bronco Nation eclipses a set goal on the noise meter. When the flag goes up, you know Bronco Nation is ready for Blue Chaos.

East Stadium Banner Updates: The new banners feature captains Scott Matlock and John Ojukwu. Demitri Washington and George Holani are also featured.

Express lanes

Any guest can come through an express lane. However, if they have chair backs with metal, they have to go through the regular lanes. There are exceptions to the bag policy such as medical bags or diaper bags. Those cannot go through the express lanes.

Express lanes are located at Gate A, D, E, M, N, P

10-10 rule

All alcohol in the tailgates must be in an opaque cup. (i.e. red solo cup). Beer koozies do not satisfy this.
