Boise State 49, Colorado State 10

Quarterback Taylen Green was 24-of-30 passing for a career high 305 yards and two touchdowns as the Broncos overwhelmed the Rams and remained in the driver’s seat for the Mountain West championship game.

Boise State has played Colorado State a total of 11 times in the two schools’ football history — all since 2011. The Broncos have won all 11 of those games, including last year’s 28-19 victory in Fort Collins, Colo.

The Broncos will put that streak on the line — as well as this year’s undefeated record in the Mountain West — when they face the Rams at 5 p.m. Saturday in Albertsons Stadium.

Beat writers Ron Counts (@Ron_BroncoBeat) and Rachel Roberts (@ByRachelRoberts) and newsroom assistant editor Jim Keyser will fill you in on all the action with live updates below.

Edge rusher announces plan to transfer

Boise State lost its second pass rusher of the week just ahead of kickoff Saturday (5 p.m., FS1).

Redshirt sophomore Isaiah Bagnah announced he was transferring less than an hour before the Mountain West contest was scheduled to begin. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Bagnah joined the Broncos in 2019 as a three-star recruit. He finished second on the team with six sacks last season, and he leaves Boise State with 10 in his career.

It’s another blow to a defensive front that lost edge rusher George Tarlas for the season to a hip injury he suffered in the Broncos’ 19-14 win over Air Force.

With Tarlas and Bagnah gone, the Broncos may have to turn to a pair of junior college transfers in defensive end Cortez Hogans Jr., who hasn’t played this season because of an undisclosed injury but was active last week, and edge rusher Deven Wright.

Matlock, Cravens out vs. Colorado State

Boise State will be without two more key members of its defensive front Saturday: Scott Matlock and nose tackle Jackson Cravens were both inactive because of undisclosed injuries.

Their absence will mean more playing time for young defensive linemen Herbert Gums and Ahem Hassanein, and veterans Divine Obichere and Michael Callahan.

Offensive lineman Ben Dooley was out for the eighth straight game, and kicker Will Ferrin was also out with an undisclosed injury.
