Boise State’s fourth verbal commitment in four days came from a 6-foot-6, 270-pound offensive tackle from Washington state on Friday.

Three-star tackle Kyle Cox announced his commitment Friday afternoon on Twitter. He also has scholarship offers from Air Force, San Diego State, Army, Weber State, Idaho, Montana State, Portland State and Columbia, according to 247Sports.

Cox is the second offensive lineman to join Boise State’s 2023 class, following Murrieta Valley center Jason Steele. Cox is also the fourth high school player to join the class in the past four days.

Anna High (Texas) running back Jambres “Breezy” Dubar committed on Tuesday, and St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida) wide receiver Jackson Grier followed suit on Wednesday. Little Elm (Texas) cornerback Franklyn Johnson Jr. joined the class on Thursday.

New video board coming

The video board in Albertsons Stadium’s north end zone will be replaced with a high-definition board thanks to a $1.8 million donation from Agri Beef, and the new board is expected to be installed in time for Boise State’s home opener on Sept. 17, the university announced on Friday.

“We will continue our relentless pursuit of elevating the gameday experience in Albertsons Stadium,” Boise State Athletic Director Jeramiah Dickey said in a statement. “Our unwavering partnership with Agri Beef spans decades, and we are sincerely grateful for the family company’s commitment to our success.”

The Boise State athletic department has now received four gifts of more than $1 million dollars this fiscal year, including a $4.5 million donation from Melaleuca, which is helping to fund the installation of the largest video board in the Mountain West in Albertsons Stadium’s south end zone.

The board in the north end zone will be 77 feet wide by 37 feet tall, which is about 18 feet wider than the current board. It will be 2,850 square feet, and the viewing area will increase by 25 percent.

Agri Beef’s exclusive naming rights for the north video screen will be extended by 10 years, according to Boise State.
