The Boise State football team announced a late addition to its 2022 recruiting class on Friday.

The Broncos signed 6-foot-5, 310-pound offensive lineman Oluwafunto Akinshilo, who spent last season at El Camino College in Torrance, California.

Akinshilo, who played guard for the Warriors, also had scholarship offers from Kent State, New Mexico, Utah State and Southern University, according to 247Sports.

The native of Lawndale, California, visited Boise State on March 31. He appeared in all 11 of El Camino’s games last season after spending his high school carer at Leuzinger High in California, where he played offensive and defensive tackle, and also was on the basketball team.

Akinshilo will join the Broncos this summer and step into a position group that includes plenty of experienced players. Boise State has six offensive linemen with starting experience, including left tackle John Ojukwu, guards Garrett Curran, Ben Dooley and Will Farrar, and center Kekaniokoa Holomalia-Gonzalez, who missed all of last season for undisclosed reasons.

The Broncos also added Washington State transfer Cade Beresford this year. He started games at guard last season for the Cougars but has played primarily right tackle for the Broncos this spring.

Broncos add LB to 2023 class

Boise State also added a linebacker with scholarship offers from teams in the Pac-12 and Big 10 to its 2023 recruiting class on Friday.

Wyatt Milkovic — a native of Chandler, Arizona, who played at Basha High School — announced his verbal commitment Friday afternoon on Twitter.

Milkovic said he plans to sign during the early signing period in December, graduate early from high school and enroll at Boise State in January 2023. He visited campus last weekend and verbally committed before he left town.

“When Boise State offered, it was a special moment for me,” Milkovic told the Statesman on Friday. “Boise State has always been great program, and it’s only getting better.”

The 6-foot-1, 233-pound defender also has scholarship offers from Colorado, California, Iowa State, Utah State, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State and North Arizona, according to 247Sports.

Milkovic is the second player committed to Boise State’s 2023 class, following Rancho Cucamonga, California, quarterback C.J. Tiller. Milkovic said the Broncos are recruiting him as a middle linebacker.

At Basha, Milkovic helped the Bears finished with a 10-1 record last season. He had 132 tackles and 4.5 sacks, according to MaxPreps.
