Boise State football moves up in both major polls

The Boise State football moved up one spot to No. 19 in the latest AP Top 25 poll and two spots to No. 17 in the Coaches’ Poll, both of which were released Sunday afternoon.

The Broncos (11-1, 8-0 MW) hung on Friday for a 31-24 win at Colorado State, which clinched Boise State’s first undefeated run through Mountain West play.

After losing to American Athletic Conference rival Memphis on Friday, Cincinnati (10-2) fell to No. 21 in the AP poll. Memphis (11-2) moved up one spot to No. 16. Memphis and Cincinnati will play again this weekend in the AAC title game. Both were ranked just ahead of the Broncos in last week’s College Football Playoff ranking. A new CFP poll will be released Tuesday evening.

Boise State returns to action Saturday at home in the Mountain West championship game against Hawaii (2 p.m., ESPN).
