Boise State basketball learns conference schedule. It differs from last year’s
Boise State basketball’s conference schedule was announced on Tuesday morning, and there’s a slight difference to this year’s Mountain West slate.
Due to the addition of Grand Canyon this season — one year ahead of conference realignments, which will see a new Pac-12 and Mountain West — the Broncos will not play every team twice this season. They will meet Air Force and Fresno State only once.
Boise State and four other teams are leaving the conference for the Pac-12 next summer. Teams such as Grand Canyon and UC Davis will backfill the Mountain West.
Every team in what used to be an 11-team Mountain West will play 20 conference games again this season, but fitting Grand Canyon into the schedule means it’s a 12-team league, creating an unbalanced schedule.
The Broncos will start their conference slate at Nevada on Dec. 20, while the conference home opener is on Dec. 30 against New Mexico. Boise State will end the regular season on the road, traveling to Colorado State on March 7 ahead of the 2026 Mountain West Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada, which will start on March 11.
Another difference this season is that all of Boise State’s conference games are being played on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Boise State’s nonconference schedule starts on Nov. 3 when the Broncos host Hawaii Pacific at ExtraMile Arena.
