‘Fairytale season’: Bogus Basin plans to extend winter season through beginning of May
Bogus Basin plans to extend its winter operations through May 6, the latest date in the nonprofit’s 80-year history.
Over the past several days, the area has received nearly four feet of snow, the nonprofit said in a news release. During March, Bogus received 119 inches of snow.
“Bogus Basin’s 80th Anniversary winter has truly been a fairytale season with phenomenal conditions,” general manager Brad Wilson said in a news release. “Record seasons like this remind us how much Bogus Basin means to this community.”
The recreation area will run daily through April 16. Through April 30, it will operate Fridays through Sundays. The nonprofit plans to hold an end-of-season party May 6, “weather and conditions permitting.”
“We look forward to ending the 2022-23 season on a high note, celebrating with the community and our season pass holders,” said Nate Shake, director of mountain operations, in a news release. “We were the first mountain in southern Idaho to open, and now we anticipate being the last to close.”
Bogus Basin opened its winter operations this year on Nov. 19, the earliest date in 28 years, and began its daily operations on Dec. 1.
