Want to ski at Bogus Basin next season? Prices are going up. Here’s what you’ll pay

Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area announced prices for its 2022-23 season passes on Wednesday, noting that prices have increased once again — a trend at ski areas across Idaho for several years.

Season passes for the Boise-area mountain go on sale next Friday, Feb. 25. Bogus officials said in a news release that the price increases reflect the increased cost of living and doing business in the Treasure Valley.

“Like other businesses, Bogus Basin is experiencing increased expenses in all areas of the operation,” General Manager Brad Wilson said. “Customers can expect to see a modest increase on our most popular products. This allows us to continue taking care of our employees and, ultimately, fulfill our nonprofit mission of affordable, accessible and fun mountain recreation and education.”

This is the second year that Bogus has offered a new option called the True Bogus pass, which allows passholders to ski and snowboard in the winter and use chairlifts and the Bogus mountain bike park in the offseason. The adult True Bogus pass price increased to $479, up from $449 last year.

Young adults up to 24 years old will pay $339 for a True Bogus pass, up from $309. The teen pass increased from $259 to $279, and the junior pass for kids ages 7 to 12 increased from $159 to $169. Passes for children 6 and under are still $49. Senior passes will cost $339 compared to last year’s $299, while family passes increased from $1,399 to $1,499. Family passes cover two adults and all their dependents.

Bogus Basin’s traditional Winter Season pass is also more expensive: $399 for adults, up from $369 last year. Adults will also pay more for night skiing (which Bogus calls a Twilight pass), with prices increasing from $129 to $139. Midweek prices remained the same at $199, and Spring Season passes — good from March 14 through the end of the season — still cost $109.

Prices for young adult (ages 18 to 24) Winter Season passes increased $20 to $259. Young adults will also pay more for night skiing ($139 compared to last year’s $129) but Midweek and Spring prices remained the same — $179 and $99, respectively.

Nordic passes are still $129 for both adults and young adults. (Nordic add-ons are available at a discount with several other pass types.)

Teen (ages 13 to 17) and junior (ages 7 to 12) Winter pass prices also increased. Winter passes for teens are now $219, up from $199, while junior passes will cost $119, up from $109. Prices for Twilight ($99), Midweek ($169), Spring ($69) and Nordic ($99) passes remained the same for teens. Junior Nordic passes increased $5 to $69, while other prices remained steady. Junior Twilight passes cost $99, Midweek passes cost $109 and Spring passes cost $39.

Winter, Twilight and Midweek passes still cost $29 for children ages 6 and under, while Spring passes will remain $14.

Seniors will pay $30 more for Winter passes, which now cost $259. Seniors will also pay more for Twilight passes (up $10 to $139) and Spring passes (up $20 to $99). Nordic passes remain $99 for seniors, while Midweek passes are still $179.

For the second year in a row, family Winter passes increased $100. This year, families will pay $1,249 for a Winter Season pass. Spring passes also increased to $359 over last year’s $349, and Twilight passes are up to $469 over last year’s $449. Family Midweek passes are still $749.

Bogus Basin also offers discounts for college students and active duty military members.
