Need a ride? Bogus Basin announces new shuttles, upgrades thanks to credit union sponsor
Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area on Thursday announced plans for several upgrades, including a park-and-ride shuttle from Downtown Boise, thanks to a sponsorship from a local credit union.
Idaho Central Credit Union and Bogus Basin signed a multiyear partnership deal after several months of discussions, officials said in a news release on Thursday. The length of the partnership was not disclosed.
The sponsorship funding will add a new digital signboard at the Boise-area mountain that will display chairlift and grooming information. Funds will also go toward two new shuttles: one that will transport visitors from the parking lot to the JR Simplot Lodge, and another that will carry passengers from a Downtown Boise park-and-ride location to the mountain.
The park-and-ride shuttle will pick guests up at Bogus’ existing lot at 750 Mountain Cove Road near the Fort Boise Military Reserve. Bogus Basin spokeswoman Susan Saad said the shuttles will begin running on weekends and holidays beginning Dec. 21.
Bogus will rename the 17,000-square foot plaza outside of Simplot Lodge the Idaho Central Credit Union Plaza. A ribbon-cutting for the plaza is scheduled for Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. Attendees can enter to win a free Bogus Basin season pass.
