Idaho City Park N’ Ski Area Free Ski/Snowshoe Day: The Park N’ Ski parking permit fee has been waived to encourage you to test out your new skis and snowshoes. The Idaho City Park N’ Ski area is about 17 miles north of Idaho City on Idaho 21. parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/activities/nordic
Yurt Open House: Two of the six yurts will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Rocky Ridge yurt is off the Lower Lamar Trail. Park in the Whoop-Um-Up Park N’ Ski lot and ask the lot host for directions (about a 1.5-mile ski or snowshoe). The Whispering Pines Yurt is in the Gold Fork Park N’ Ski area, about 20 miles north of Idaho City on Idaho 21 (ski or snowshoe 2 miles, climbing 400 feet on a groomed ski trail). Tuesdays, Jan. 12, 26 and Feb. 9
Bogus Basin Snowshoe Series: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bogus Basin. Depart and return from Nampa Rec Center, 131 Constitution Way. Snowshoeing adventure, followed by a warm beverage at the Frontier Point Nordic Lodge. $20 each date or $54 for all three, includes transportation, trail pass, snowshoeing tour and beverage.
