‘Near-record’ temperatures headed to Boise area. Here’s how hot it could get
Expect to feel the heat in Boise this week.
“We’ll see a warming and drying trend throughout the week, with near-record hot temperatures in some areas by Friday!” the National Weather Service in Boise said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Boise could see daytime temperatures as high as 99 degrees, the weather agency said.
Nights could cool considerably in the Treasure Valley, with temperatures expected to drop to the low to mid-60s once the sun goes down.

What’s in the weather forecast for Boise?
Boise was expected to be sunny and hot on Monday with a high temperature near 95 degrees and a low temperature around 66 degrees, according to the National Weather Service’s latest seven-day forecast.
Tuesday will also have sunny and hot weather with a high of 98 and a low of 64, the weather service predicted.
On Wednesday, the forecast high is 95 and the low is 62.
Wind gusts could reach as high as 20 mph on Wednesday, the weather service said.
Thursday will see a high of 94 and a low of 62, while Friday will have a high of 98 and a low around 68.
The hottest temperatures are likely to occur over the weekend, with the high on Saturday reaching 99 and the overnight low dropping to 70, the weather service said.
That’s 8 degrees cooler than the hottest temperature recorded in Idaho’s capital city for that date, the weather service said.
On Aug. 23, 1969, the mercury shot up to 107 degrees in Boise, according to the National Weather Service.
A few clouds and winds up to 10 miles per hour will help lower temperatures Saturday night, according to The Weather Channel.
Sunday is expected to be “mostly sunny and hot” with a high of 97, the weather service said.
There was zero percent chance of rain in Boise throughout the week, according to The Weather Channel.

Normal high temperatures in Boise are typically in the mid-to-high 80s during the later half of August, according to U.S. Climate Data.
That means Boise is hotter than usual for this time of year.
What will the weather in Idaho be like this fall?
More warm and dry weather could continue into the fall months in Idaho, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac.
The average temperature in September will be 67 degrees, the Old Farmer’s Almanac said, while October is expected to have an average daily temperature of 52 degrees.
Idaho will see below-average rainfall this fall, the almanac said in its 60-day prediction.
