In Nampa’s Legislative District 13, there is one contested race. Here’s what to know
Voters on the east side of Nampa will decide whether to send back their House representative for Legislative District 13.
Republican Rep. Brent Crane, who seeks a ninth term, will face one challenger, Constitution Party candidate Petre Danaila, during the Nov. 8 general election race to retain his House position A seat.
The other two races, Senate and House position B, are uncontested. Brian Lenney ousted incumbent Jeff Agenbroad for his Senate seat in the May GOP primary. Kenny Wroten won the Republican nomination in the primary and will serve in the House position B seat. All Idaho state legislators serve two-year terms.
Crane currently chairs the House State Affairs Committee, an influential committee that has considered some of Idaho’s most controversial bills, including state abortion restrictions. He also serves on the Ethics and House Policy Committee, which recommended a state lawmaker accused of rape be expelled last year.
The Idaho Statesman sent surveys to each of the candidates, and their responses are copied below, unedited. Crane didn’t respond to the survey.
In the survey, Danaila spoke about vaccine mandates, grocery tax and medical marijuana.
