If you’re planning to travel on Interstate 84 next week at night or early in the morning, get ready for possible delays.

Starting Monday night, the section of Interstate 84 between the Black Canyon interchange at Exit 13 and the Oregon state line will be undergoing repairs. The Idaho Transportation Department will be sealing pavement and ramps at each interchange along the 12.5-mile corridor as part of ongoing preservation work.

Starting at 8 p.m., single-lane closures will begin one direction at a time, according to a press release. The westbound side of the highway will be completed first.

Westbound closures will take place from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., and eastbound closures will go from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Each of the ramps being repaired along the route will be closed for three consecutive nights. While Exit 3 is closed, drivers will be detoured using U.S. 95. Traffic using Exit 9 will be detoured to U.S. 30. The Snake River View Welcome Center will also close three consecutive nights while crews complete work in that area. Drivers should check Idaho 511 for the most current closures.

Those traveling along the construction zone should expect a 60 mph speed limit around the clock while the work continues.

ITD said repairs for this project are expected to be completed in August.

In Nampa, ITD will close a 4-mile section of Interstate 84 between the Garrity Boulevard interchange (Exit 38) and Ten Mile Road interchange (Exit 42) overnight on July 14 and July 17 to restripe the roadway in preparation for repaving along I-84. On Tuesday, July 14, eastbound will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. On Friday, July 17, westbound I-84 will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Traffic will be detoured to Franklin Road in both cases.
