Officials have released the name of the person who was killed on Interstate 84 between Boise and Mountain Home.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office identified 65-year-old Dawn Hettinger, of Nampa, as the woman who died after she was hit by at least one vehicle on Interstate 84 on Saturday, according to a Tuesday news release.

Hettinger was struck after pulling over and exiting her vehicle on the westbound side of I-84 at about 10:25 p.m., about 20 miles east of Boise near mile marker 67, Idaho State Police said. The number of vehicles involved remained unknown as of Tuesday, according to the coroner.

Hettinger was pronounced dead at 1:20 a.m. Sunday. The coroner’s office listed the cause and manner of her death as “pending.”

Law enforcement closed the westbound traffic lanes for about 13 hours as emergency responders assisted those involved and cleared the accident scene.

Idaho State Police is still investigating the crash.
