Interstate 84 reopens after closing for 13 hours; person struck by vehicle

Officials reopened Interstate 84 after a person was hit by a vehicle between Boise and Mountain Home.

A driver was struck after pulling over and exiting a vehicle on the westbound side of I- 84 at about 10:25 p.m. Saturday, about 20 miles east of Boise near mile marker 67, according to an Idaho State Police news release on Sunday.

Law enforcement closed the westbound traffic lanes for about 13 hours as emergency responders assisted those involved and cleared the accident scene, the release said.

Idaho State Police is investigating the crash. The agency did not immediately respond to the Idaho Statesman’s request for additional information on the condition of the person involved.
