Truck topples traffic signal at busy Boise-area intersection, closing lanes

Commuters will need to avoid part of Idaho 44 — the extension of Boise’s State Street — following an accident in Eagle.

A dump truck hit a traffic signal, tearing the lights from the pole, at 12:55 Monday near the North Eagle Road and Idaho 44 intersection, according to an Ada County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Following the crash, law enforcement closed the southbound lanes on Eagle Road near Idaho 44 while crews repair the traffic signal, the release said.

Law enforcement estimated the closure would last until about 8 p.m. and said they “anticipate this impacting the afternoon commute.”

“Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes,” the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office said there were no reported injuries.
