Air Force base identifies airman who died in crash northeast of Mountain Home

Officials released the name of the woman who died in a motorcycle accident northeast of Mountain Home on Sunday.

The Mountain Home Air Force Base confirmed Wednesday night that the victim was Kyra Badrian, 25, of Silver Spring, Maryland. She was a senior airman assigned to the 366th Fighter Wing.

Idaho State Police said Badrian had been driving a motorcycle east on Pine-Featherville Highway, north of Pine, when she crashed.

Two other airmen witnessed Badrian lose control of her vehicle while navigating a turn, the 366th Fighter Wing said in a news release. The airmen tried to perform life-saving actions, but arriving first responders pronounced Badrian dead at the scene, the wing said.

“Our Gunfighters mourn the loss of a fellow Airman, teammate and friend,” Col. Roderick James, commander of the 366th Fighter Wing, said in the release. “Kyra was doing the right thing, she was enjoying the Idaho outdoors, and spending time with her wingmen. We will support her family, friends, and our entire Gunfighter family during this difficult time.”

The wing said it would release additional details as they become available.
