Update: 3-vehicle crash in Boise sends 2 to hospital, one with life-threatening injuries
A three-vehicle crash in Boise temporarily closed a portion of West Fairview Avenue in both directions, police said Tuesday, and seriously injured two people.
The accident occurred between North Cloverdale and North Five Mile roads, according to a tweet from the Boise Police Department. Investigators are on the scene and the road remained closed at around 4 p.m.
Just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, first responders — including Boise Police, Boise Fire and Ada County Paramedics — responded to the collision, police spokesperson Haley Williams told the Idaho Statesman by text.
Williams said preliminary information indicates that a vehicle in the westbound center turn lane on Fairview was hit from behind by another vehicle heading westbound. The two vehicles then collided with a vehicle that was traveling eastbound.
Two people were seriously injured and rushed to a local hospital, and one had injuries that were described as life-threatening, Williams said.
